City still top of the table after a 5-1 thumping of Norwich.

In other news - FA Cup draw forces United to play a match IN MANCHESTER against City.

I'm trying to figure out what you're going for here.

United not having to actually travel away is more than outbalanced by the fact that they're having to play arguably the best team in England in just the third round.

Jibe between clubs. City is located in Manchester. United is allegedly located in Salford, which is not technically Manchester.

Manchester's true team, etc. etc.

United is NOT in Manchester....that's what I'm getting at. The rags play in the dump of Salford which is outside Manchester.

Manchester - 101 Years a United FREE City

It's nice that you talk about Stockport County in such glowing terms. :D

And you know what? You don't live in Manchester either.

Re: World Soccer XXI: Don't Tread on the Red, White, and Blue

Isn't it sort of like complaining that the Giants/Jets aren't really in New York when they're really just right across the river? I get that regionalism in England is a lot more specific than regionalism here, but Old Trafford itself is something like 2.5 miles from downtown Manchester. That's even shorter than the drive from "Downtown" Green Bay to Lambeau Field.

Re: World Soccer XXI: Don't Tread on the Red, White, and Blue

Kind of a soft red card on Spearing yesterday, though I'm not sure how much of that is my honest opinion and how much is due to being swayed by McManaman's cheerleading; that man has no business being on a "neutral" broadcast. But hey, I'll take it. :)

True. Even when City was struggling, they were more of a Manchester team than United was.

And Chelsea don't play in Chelsea, and QPR don't play in Queen's Park, and the Buffalo Bills don't play in Buffalo, and the Detroit Pistons don't play in Detroit. Who cares?

Difference...Manchester City is IN Manchester. Those other teams don't have people outside their City trying to take their names.

Also....I love the fact that it winds up the United fans....its amusing how easy United fans are to agitate!

I could care less. It's just semantics.

Boston College isn't in Boston... :p

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like seeing United wear blue.

Not just you. Just looks weird. Should either be white top with black shorts or I'd do a nod to the past with a green and yellow kit.

Re: World Soccer XXI: Don't Tread on the Red, White, and Blue

Apparently Manchester teams are not all powerful, as both City and United look to be crashing out of the Champions League unless there are incredible last minute theatrics in ManU's game against Basel or the Napoli match against Villareal. I wonder what odds you would have gotten on that pair of results before the group stage began?
