Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

Good luck to the wildcats this weekend and more importantly, those of you who are driving out there soon, please drive safely.

I wouldn't want to get ahead of myself, but ... is there a championship bonfire celebration scheduled yet?! :D

Thanks, "Nick". same to BC and VT.

And as to the bonfire, we prefer to call it the "Burning of the Banners". :p
Bring marshmallows. It'll be fun.

Clear and cool in Albany. The snow petered out between Sturbridge and Springfield on my way here this morning.

Thanks to goblue for posting the article on Coach...I had the unbelievable honor to share his office with him for 4 years back when....such a gentleman and gentle man, who became my surrogate Dad up here in NH.....always unassuming and simple, his work ethic and love of hockey long imprinted and directed much of my life....he is and always will be what UNH Hockey is all about.....and with that said, the UNH family couldn't have found a better man than Umile to takeover the reigns....go nuts today Cats...play your game and we play again tomorrow.....Love ya Coach

FORMER MEN'S HOCKEY COACH CHARLIE HOLT NAMED 2010 HOBEY BAKER LEGEND OF HOCKEY

That's a great honor for him: everything good you'll hear about him is true.
I remember walking back from Snively after an intramural hockey game. Charlie met us walking from the other direction. As he passed us, with a big grin he said, "Did ya win?" Nice man. Great coach.

Thoughts while watching Albany game 1 on the U:
1. Upsets are for real in Albany, it can happen again.
2. The FF path looks a lot easier on paper for the game 2 winner.
3. No matter the game 2 result, UNH fans will be feeling a lot happier/a lot less miserable than Denver fans.

Go 'cats!!!

You guys should listen to acs from now on. Great win over Cornell. RIT is next, see ya in Detroit:p

Re: UNH Wildcats - '10 Playoff Edition

ha... I get the joke. UNH came to play after they saw the RIT/Denver final.

Clearly they knew it would be far more devastating to get us all excited for a frozen four appearance and then lose in an upset to RIT.

No disrespect for Mr. Holt here but last time there was a tribute for him I do believe occurred around a game in Minnesota against a certain Niagara team. Anyone remembah how well that worked out?

RIT 2 (eng to finish it off)
UNH 0

Unaffiliated (Union) with any of the teams in Albany I bought my ticket this week expecting a Cornell - DU final. Wrong! Should be a fun game tomorrow. BTW, I believe UNH is the only team with a local in the regional, Mike Borisonek of Watervliet and Albany Academy. Congratulations and good luck.
