The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

I'm really confused. Apparently the regular season has started but the Boston Bruins are no where to be seen. Take today for example. There were these guys in black jerseys on the ice against Colorado but they played nothing like last year's team. In fact, they even had a really tall guy wearing the Chara jersey but it clearly wasn't him because he was getting beat to lose pucks and out of position. So does anyone know where the Bruins? I kinda wanna tell them that the season started.

Like i said earlier...maybe the Bruins just aren't that good and last year was a fluke?;)

It's because of what has become blatantly obvious right now. Last year this is a last place team without Jacques' system in place.

We never knew how bad the team really was all these years until now.
This post reeks of the truth.

Great job by Toronto to come out fired up and really give themselves a chance in the third period. Not.

Not looking good for Huet and Chicago either.

Not so fast.

5-4 Calgary in the second.

Scratch "Chicago". Still not a good night for Huet. ;)

Certainly isn't the exception to the rule on that one.

They're just a competent goaltender and some experience on the blue line from being the next Penguins.

Too bad their (former) GM is an idiot and put them in cap hell 7 ways from sunday.

The GM thing is a mess. Tallon is on the hook for Huet, but isn't Bowman the one behind the Hossa fiasco?

In any case, Kippy just Huet'd the game away.

6 straight unanswered goals over a little over 2 periods.

WOW.

It's why you watch all 3 periods.

Blackhawks win 6-5 in overtime on a goal from Brent Seabrook.

Calgary should be called the Chokeondicks now - what a brutal way to go down.

Calgary wins the early season award for MNS'ing. Holy crap was that a bricking.
