RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

Re: RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

I'm sure the Plattsburgh players enjoyed playing keep-away in the third. Also nice to see Platty top scorer get a goal in the last three minutes of this close game.

If you were there you would have seen it was practically a breakaway. Not like she was pounding shots on net and looking for rebounds.

I hope my sarcasm is coming through in this.

Yes we get it you're a dumbass.

Did Potsdam put a new coach behind the bench? At least they didn't quit playing 5 minutes into the game.

I hope my sarcasm is coming through in this. Seriously, get over it people. Why should the good teams not be able to play they're game. Have you ever heard the term "don't play down to your opponent".

Norwich has only been around for a couple years. They figured it out.

From another thread:
Made the trek to Potsdam tonight. ...........

......PSU ran 4 lines all game. Bunch of freshmen got their first goals and points. Refs were clearly not calling anything. It's Tuesday. Thanksgivings in a few days. The linseman and ref were cracking jokes with each other at the blue line during play. Whole thing was a little bit ridiculous. Blatant calls were just simply not being made for either side. Only reason nothing was called was because they were incidental plays. No one was getting out of control rough or trying to get away with anything. Refs were there to make sure someone blew the whistle when the puck was covered, essentially.

This is how games can get out of hand and players can get hurt. Vastly unprofessional of the refs.

Re: RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

Will any of the faithful make the trip over to Williamstown for the game on Saturday night?
I watched Williams tie (on what I felt to be a gift powerplay goal from the Polar Bear D!) at Watson last Sunday and Sara Plunkett is a big time goalie, that much is for sure. Hard to say if the Ephs will generate much offense against RIT, but it should be worth a drive up to Williamstown!

We're kinda broke from all the driving last year.

Nice job with the website. As for your prediction for the Williams game, I would tend to lean in RIT's favor. However, your reliance on offensive statistics as a predictor is a bit skewed considering the 23-3 pasting of Potsdam, don't you think? You mentioned RIT's overall goal differential is 31-10, but if you take out Potsdam it leaves you at 8-7, not overly impressive.

I would only take out the 17 points from Saturday's Potsdam game. The Friday game was much closer than the score showed.

You really can't because then RIT loses the game. My point was, don't talk about RIT's scoring depth based on what happened in those Potsdam games.

Fair enough, but that's really all I have to go on at this point.

I didn't really rely on the offensive statistics though. I was simply highlighting what each team has done so far. What I highlighted helped my score predictions but I'm not totally relying on those highlights for support to why I chose the scores I did.

I'll admit that I had originally picked RIT to beat Williams by more but I chose to make it closer simply because our goaltenders haven't been doing as good as I would expect (although they haven't faced too many shots) and it looks like the Williams goalie is hot. With the lack of results it is hard to get a good idea though so I did the best I could.

I appreciate the comments though. I'll try to be more objective next time and with the extra games in it should be easier to do.

There's a nice interview with Missy Hall in the Winter issue of RIT's University Magazine.

Please don't misinterepret my intent, I have no desire for you to be objective. You are a great RIT fan and should stay that way.

I'm looking forward to RIT vs Amherst next week.
