RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

Re: RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

Please don't misinterepret my intent, I have no desire for you to be objective. You are a great RIT fan and should stay that way.

I'm looking forward to RIT vs Amherst next week.

Well I think if you want to get a good preview out of it and a fair prediction you should try and be objective. This only has to do with my previews, I'll still support my team and keep my personal bias :p.

RIT vs Amherst should be good. I am curious and excited to see what will happen. Both teams are good, but I think a lot of people are wondering how good. If RIT brings their "A game" I think we can come out with a couple wins. After this past weekend I'm not sure what to expect with defense but I think we'll probably be seeing Freshman Carley King starting in net.

My preview for the Amherst series is on the corner crew website. Feel free to let me know how I did.

Re: RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

Should be great hockey to watch tonight at Orr! I am sure RIT feels they were hosed last season (if not by Amherst personally, by the good old NC$$) and will be out to prove it on the ice. Should be a playoff atmosphere.
Amherst has looked good the couple of games I have seen them this season. I have seen RIT twice and might give the Tiger forwards the edge (although Hanlon, Vitale et al are not too shabby), so with Amherst D corps about the best in DIII, it all may come down to goaltending. That said, none of the potential net minders have really established their big game credentials. Coach Plumer has rotated Murphy and Hu, and it is Murphy's turn tonight. I have seen speculation (on this thread) that Coach McDoanld may start the first year Carley King over Torgerson this evening. Amherst has so far played five games against some of the best goalies in the East (Iwachiw with her 73/76 saves against them in the two games last weekend and NEC's Teraysa White 36/40, and while they scored some on Ashleigh Corvi they need 124 shots to make it happen).
Two high powered offenses, some great D and it should be more than worth the trip.

Re: RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

It is too close to the holidays for me to do a preview this week...aka I'm being lazy.

As far as predictions go. I'll say

Friday - RIT 4 Adrian 2
Saturday - RIT 6 Adrian 3

Re: RIT Women's Hockey 2009-2010

I predict a sweep this weekend by EC with the Soaring Eagles winning both games 17-1...

Sweep is possible, 17-1 is not. RIT is still kinda questionable. This is a good test for them. I think we would probably want to take at least 3 points if we're going to have a chance at the NCAAs.

I'm looking forward to some close, competitive hockey games this weekend. Let's hope both teams can deliver.

Just making sure there was still some RIT fans out there. Had to go back 4 pages to find the thread?
