>>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

It's been a bit quiet around here considering we are hosting the frozen four in less then 48 hours. Hopefull Dr. Cooper's student ticket deal will help to get even more students to the Semifinal on Friday. http://bit.ly/wjBR4I

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

That's a great deal. The total price is less than the normal student tickets to the men's game. I was wondering why students had to pick up the men's tickets at the women's game and the pricing explains that. I would think that deal would sell out easily ... and it's a great thing to do for students (and the teams).

It is a good way to leverage attendance for the women's game.

But it's frustrating to those of us who have to work and need to get in line at Blue Cross immediately thereafter.

What's frustrating? I'm confused (shocking, I know.)

I'm not seeing what the issue is. RIT is making the price affordable for students to attend both games. Its a great problem to have when both teams are in the playoffs.

Congratulations to the RIT women ... 2011-12 D3 National Champions!!!

It's nice to have another NCAA championship for RIT. And all the best on the "step up" assuming the expected announcement is indeed made.

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

That was a hell of a game. The ladies just would not be denied. The first national championship for any RIT women's team, and it was obtained on home ice. No better way to go out than that. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a Ritter packed full of Tiger fans.

What an amazing way to end our D3 play. This will make the announcement on Tuesday all the more sweet!

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

Any stats on attendance? The place looked empty for every game! Disappointing.

1,200. Arena holds 2,100. About 600 of that is standing room. Attendance is pretty good when you consider 2,400 people were at the men's game downtown.

1,200 is about double of the tigers average attendance, which is a close second across D3 this year. http://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance/division-iii-women/2011-2012/

A press conference is schedule for 10:30 am on Tuesday.

Congrats to everyone involved with the RIT women's hockey program. Scott, Joe, Jared, Chelsea etc. you guys were phenomenal hosts the past two seasons.

I was nervous all season that Norwich was looking like RIT's team from last year on paper and in the end they finished in the same place.

The two best teams in the country the last two seasons put on phenomenal performances in both games. The two titans of DIII hockey. It was fitting they got to collide one last time before RIT goes up next year.

Also huge props to the Corner Crew for chanting every Norwich players' name in recognition after the game during the awards ceremony. Very classy and very impressed by that gesture!

Coach Bolding had a great quote in the post game presser "we came in and stole their ring last year, this year they took it back."

As an RIT fan, any hard feelings from last year are now gone, and all feels right with the world. I have nothing but respect for Norwich and the amazing job Bolding has done in just five years. It is a testament to the university's dedication that Norwich has become a national power so quickly.

Completely agree with this. It's great to see schools support teams.

Congratulations to the Lady Tigers on their National Championship!! What an amazing season to watch.
The line of Schlattman/Hiller/McCrea had a tough job all night matching up with the Norwich top line. And they were certainly up to the task at hand keeping the Fortier/Rundlett/Anderson of the score sheet.

RIT Tigers 2012 National Champions!

Anyone have details on the presser tomorrow? Time, location? Is it open to the public? Do we want Corner Crew on hand like we did for the men?

Presser is tomorrow in the fireside lounge, 10:30am.

And also announced today is the fact Niagara is dropping its women's program, which would leave CHA with 6 teams after RIT is granted full status, still qualifying the league for an autobid.

One might wonder if RIT will be granted immediate status, so as to allow CHA to get the autobid in place next season?

No, they will be ineligible for post season play for their first two years in D1 - a probationary period
