Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

Stormy - I was told that both games would be on the web - I have asked for confirmation from those who would know...if anyone here can confirm, please do...

Thanks...I will be at Saturday's game but if the Friday night game is being streamed, that would be great...otherwise WNYO will still have me ears :)

Any listeners we get this weekend would be appreciated as always :)

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

I got my tickets...however was wondering, does anyone have or know of someone with an extra ticket I would be able to get?

There's usually a bunch of people scalping tickets at the gate, I know some friends of mine were able to sell off some extra tickets last year while in line to get in.

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

Yea it was sad last year with it being "sold out" when they had all the empty seats....I know the weather had some to do with it..but still....there were a lot of empty seats that could have been sold/resold ;)

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

I will be able to watch the WTOP broadcast though. I swear to god I'm driving to Oswego and taking Jeremy Donovan's head off if that webcast doesn't work.

Webcast road test Friday Night v Potsdam...if it doesn't work Friday night, his head will already be off...if it doesn't work Saturday, I will leave a few body parts for you to mutilate....
Thanks for the support guys! And yes, it would be a major disappointment to the world and myself. On the plus side, we are looking for so many viewers (3-4 mil I'd say) that the whole internet crashes.

Also, if it fails, that's not my fault because a) WTOP doesn't control the feed, and b) I don't know anything about the technical aspects behind the controlling of the feed.... but... if it's my time to go....

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

If this game is being dubbed "Armageddon II"...I dig it! Nice ring to it. haha

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

Any injury news/updates? I know that Satim didn't play last weekend and someone posted that he was done for the year. Any truth to that?

Also, are the Oswego players who were in slings (Fox, Moodie, and Singleton, IIRC) practicing yet?

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

Checking the forecast for travel on Sat. Looks pretty good. How much snow on the ground in 'wego?

It actualy only snowed from Dec 27ish-Jan 10th this whole winter. Like PBP Mike said, it was almost all gone until the 1/4" we got this morning, which is now all gone since the sun came out for the first time since August.:p

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

I was informed that the following email was sent to the Oswego student body today:

Thanks for being the most enthusiastic fans in NCAA Division III. We appreciate your tremendous support at all our games.

We work hard to show good sportsmanship on the ice and we need your help to show good sportsmanship in the stands. Sometimes your cheers contain inappropriate language and this reflects badly on our team and the college. Please join us in supporting SUNYAC and the NCAA sportsmanship program!!!

Cheer for your team, not against the visitors!

Don’t get personal in your comments about players, coaches, or officials!

No profanity, vulgarity, racist or sexist comments!

GO LAKERS!!!

BE LOUD!
BE PROUD!
BE POSITIVE!

To all Oswego State Hockey fans:

Please take the above e-mail and tell the administration to stick it up their butts. Instead of newspaper, print out 1000 copies of these and hold them up during the Plattsburgh introductions and then crumple them up and toss them during the Oswego player intros.

This is D-III college hockey and your time to shine. Don't let the administration try and take away from your fun and your right to enjoy one of Division III's best rivalries.

This is a load of horse crap. A true college hockey enviroment does whatever necessary to get on the opposing team verbally and visually.

I hope when i watch the webcast on Saturday I hear every chant and ever cheer done exactly the same way it has been done in the past.

Cheer the boys on to victory and make sure every Plattsburgh player knows you're a proud Oswego State student and were raised to hate the dreaded Cards.

This would have never happened in Romney. Fight the man. Don't let them take away the home crowd advantage and take away from your enjoyment of a college hockey game. Games are have already been muted enough in the CC. Don't let this crap happen too.

Signed,

Derek Dunning

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

That leter is exactly why Tim Hale and Bruce Delventhal need to leave their respective colleges. since they have come in, and with the new CC in Oswego and the renovations to the Stafford, they have done nothing but take the crowd out of the game. no noisemakers, and now, no "abusive" language..... GROW UP! if you want silence, go to church on Sunday!

Yep, I got that email today...

I don't think it's going to prevent anyone from doing anything that they weren't already going to do.

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

If you attempt to swear at the CC all that comes out is ******, just like USCHO!

Re: Oswego vs Plattsburgh "The Whiteout game"

Well, ya know.... "they gotta do what they gotta do", and then, "you gotta do what you gotta do".... Remember that song from The Fantasticks- "They Did It 'Cause We Said No!"?

Hmmmm.... forecast here is for 5 degrees and (get ready for it)- a whiteout. wocka wocka wocka....

If the administration wanted to stop having issues with the students, how about making sure that the student sections are actually filled with students instead of others? I can't recall how many times this year I've seen full families in the middle of the student section, then complaining about the activities in the section. I know there's SRO tickets, but there hasn't been a point this year where they've sold out every seat. On the other hand, there have been instances where students have resorted to sitting in general admission seats due to the lack of seats in the student sections. Problems can be solved easily, just enforce certain practices.
