Obama V: For Vendetta

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

School boards everywhere just wished you ill. Imagine the cycle of town halls and screamers and full-bore idiocy this would then replicate at every local level.

Talk about political correctness. Oh no, we can't let the freaking POTUS make an address because some Fox-watching shut-in might have an aneurysm.

Broadcast the speech and then let the kids have a discussion afterward about why a handful of insane parents want to censor what they all can hear.

Very valid points and upon second thought I agree.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

All the pinkos told us that was wrong, so now you're whining about it?

No, I'm saying you can't spend eight years chiming it, and then suddenly act as if what you were doing in those eight years never happened.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

The president wants to kick off his "national service" aspect of his agenda. This speech is 100% part of his political agenda and is structured as such.

"Oh, me, he's just talking to the kids about happy topics we all agree on"... no... he isn't... he's going to talk on things he is going to need legislation to accomplish and to do so he's going to bypass the parents.... "daddy, why don't we do more to help each other?"

The president's already laid out his agenda... why aren't you aware about the things he's set out to do?

Its not like the president is going out there and tell them to exercise more and brush their teeth.

edit: why does the president need to speak to the children and not the adults? What's gained from this? If nothing is gained then why do it?

So you've read the speech?

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

One has to wonder what events have occured in their lives to make neo-cons like Patman and Red Cloud such bitter, angry , unpleasant people. Maybe they're different in person but both of them out here seem as pleasant as a canker sore. :D Which might actually be their problem after all. ;)

Go preach to the kids Barry. Gotta make sure that next generation is voting Dem.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Change has come to his employment status.

this should be interesting... he's one of those ideologues that the true believer liberals are too afraid to be themselves in their own career self-interests. He's the type of guy they look up to.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Could the man have "resigned" (I'm sure it was his decision ;) ) any less gracefully? my goodness, the rage makes you wonder how he lasted as long as he did.
"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones said in his resignation statement. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
The only irritating thing about the firing is that Glenn Beck can now claim credit for it. How did someone like that get so close to power in the first place?

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Heh. Using his own words and a statement he signed constitutes a "smear campaign." Awesome.

I love how the excuse for signing what basically amounts to the Truther Manifesto was that he didn't read it before he signed it. Hey, if it works for Congress, it should have worked for him too.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

How did someone like that get so close to power in the first place?

because they are all fellow travelers and believe similar things... to them these views are not a real problem because they either believe it to be true or are in essence true.

How did a local community radical become president of the United States?

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

dumb.

presidents should be allowed to keep whomever they want around them. if people don't like it, vote for someone else in 4 yrs.

"call to resign" - dumb.

(has michael moore made a "911truth" movie yet?)

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

How did a local community radical become president of the United States?

Because 53% of voters could not see past the "Hopey-Changey" BS and see that he is nothing more than an empty suit with a silver tongue.

Re: Obama V: For Vendetta

Its called, "crackers did it"

isn't michael moore a cracker too??

i loved his facial expressions in sicko while he was sitting in the apartment in france talking to expats, learning of all the great stuff the french government gives the population..:p
