Yeah fractured jaw. Hes gonna miss some time

now watch, they’ll start suddenly caring about player safety

At some point, the fact that some of these players crash into the slot like that- it was going to happen. Most of the time, they have their heads up and can deal with the hit. But at some point, the head will be down, and the timing will be bad. It was not a dirty hit.

I’m in full agreement. I’m just saying the league might start actually punishing the dirty hits now because there’s been several instances this year where they’ve not. Baby Jesus being hurt has to hurt for them

I sure hope not. Think of how the game would change if they let rushers in the middle of the slot and you *had* to be careful to hit them. That's exactly why players went wide. The play has slanted enough into the offensive part of the game.

The ones I think they haven’t punished are ones like trouba hitting people in head with stick, boarding, etc.

Which would make it even more nuts that they punish someone for a clean hit that resulted in an injury. Then again, it's not as if the NHL is consistent, or doesn't follow an agenda. They clearly want to protect the money makers.

Both Trouba and Bedard are skating check books to pay the NHL.

I’ve got a lot of sarcasm on these posts, too. I don’t really think they would punish for a clean hit- heck they don’t seem to care about protecting their superstars. I’m just really over hearing about bedard and hence my sarcasm- he’s so heavily marketed and pushed that I’m imagining the nhl corporate offices having a meltdown over him being out. Clearly my bad joke was so bad it wasn’t recognized haha

the reason the sarcasm works is that there's some real truth to it.

5 members of canadas 2018 world junior team have been told to surrender to London Ontario police for charges of sexual assault

interesting timing of at least one Canadian nhl player taking time off for unspecified reasons

Devils have announced Micheal McLeod and Cal Foote have requested and received an indefinite leave of absence.

Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss League have announced Alex Formenton is leaving the team to return to Canada.

Edit: Carter Hart from the Flyers as well…

Dilion Dube of Calgary is the other one on “indefinite leave of absence” so we have our five:

Dube
Formenton
Foote
McLeod
Hart

Really gives credibility to the rumors that the Flyers were trying to trade Hart knowing full well of this. Also to the one that Formenton was basically blacklisted.

Rick west head reports that Halifax police are investigating a sexual assault that supposedly took place in the 2003 world junior with Canada’s team.

there is one player on that roster who, if involved , would probably devastate most hockey fans. Guessing and hoping it ain’t him.
