Rick west head reports that Halifax police are investigating a sexual assault that supposedly took place in the 2003 world junior with Canada’s team.

there is one player on that roster who, if involved , would probably devastate most hockey fans. Guessing and hoping it ain’t him.

It's ironic, since goalies are supposed to keep things out.

Alex formentons lawyer says Alex and several others have now been charged.

it seems somewhat widely known that a video from after the incident exists, and the police have had it for over 18 months. Yeah, I’m sure nothing fishy about the guys getting her video after saying it was consensual. No coeecion whatsoever lol. Police don’t seem to think it absolves them which is saying something

unrelated, Patrick Laine enters assistance program for mental health. Good on him for taking this step and talking a bit about it

Confirmed now that Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Dillion Dube, and Cal Foote are the other four players.

Sounds like nhl is closer to green lighting Atlanta expansion.

maybe this time will be different.

“Just one more franchise, man. C’mon man, just one more, I promise. I just need one more hockey team.”

Someone on Reddit said to add Atlanta, Houston, Salt Lake and Quebec. Two in the east, two in the west, and even divisions.

Specifically, it sounds like Forsyth County is on the verge of giving the go-ahead on a new, NHL capacity arena. This would be located in the NE Atlanta suburbs, which is probably smart if they're seriously going to give it a third try. Most of the money in Atlanta is in the northern 'burbs.

I've never understood the fascination with wanting to participate in a situation like that, even if I thought the female was stone sober. It just screams non-consenual on any level. Porn is not real life people. In fact the concept makes me ill.

Although things are getting better with people being able to openly discuss sex in an open and safe manner, there is still a significant portion of the population that thinks what they see in porn is what sex actually should be like. This causes a ton of problems (well beyond the situation at hand here).

In other Hockey Canada news, anyone else following the drama with BCHL?

For those that haven’t, the BCHL withdrew from the CJHL and Hockey Canada and went independent, largely over restrictions on recruiting players outside of British Columbia and roster limits on import players. The BCHL announced five Alberta based teams (Blackfald, Brooks, Okotoks, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove) would join next season and all heck broke loose.

Now it seems those teams will join immediately.

The BCHL seems to be trying to build a Tier II, NCAA eligible version of the WHL.

In even more Hockey Canada news, per Spittin’ Chiclets there’s a rumor that CHL players will become NCAA eligible in 2025. Granted, I never listen to the podcast and it was during a segment called Rumor Boyz so idk if whatever comes out of that is ever legit or not, but that would be a massive change.
