The darndest things happen when kids are playing.

Last night the Grand Rapids students chanted “pay more taxes” at the Edina students

While it is funny, the reality is that Grand Rapids is probably only a town that still exists because of the tax base in the cities. :^)

Edit: My father just told me that’s an oldie but goodie. Remembers it being chanted at Edina in the 70s.

Of course GR is subsidized. I am not wealthy by any means and I pay a crap ton of taxes in Edina

oldie but goodie indeed

It would be easy to say that Hermantown had no energy after yesterday's game, but they’ve been playing pretty hard. Unfortunately this gives them more ammunition for their argument against moving up to AA.

Back to actual NHL talk. Billy has finally been selling role guys for some picks, and today it looks like we’ll see their shiny new Russian, Marat Khusnutdinov. Evidently very fast and aggressive 200’ game. Not sure how he’ll look right away, recently got his visa and arrived in St. Paul yesterday.

Edit: Nope. Not making his debut today.

Think we see the Russian tonight

on another note, a veteran wild defensemen lives a few blocks from me and I saw him losing a game of driveway hockey last night to his doodle dog.
