Annual Wild gala was last night. Their AGM, who recently signed a new deal, and them have decided to part ways today. Wild will not comment further. Hmmmm…

Another casualty of a company holiday party

I thought so too, but Russo said this today:

“which team sources tell The Athletic came on the heels of multiple investigations into Wild executives by an outside firm commissioned by the organization.

What we know about what led to this is this: In recent weeks, there have been two investigations into the Wild front office. Members of the team’s hockey support staff, hockey operations department and business staff began being interviewed regarding the second one by two attorneys Dec. 1 after the team returned from a road game in Nashville.

O’Hearn was not the subject of that latter investigation, and it’s unknown the specific nature of any allegations against him. It appears that the first investigation just happened to conclude at the same time the second one was being conducted.

What’s interesting is that O’Hearn was the front-office representative on the Wild’s latest four-game road trip, which ended Sunday in Seattle. He didn’t give the appearance that anything was amiss, being around the team in his normal jovial fashion and answering questions from reporters about the team likely needing to go into LTIR. Agents who have spoken to him in recent weeks said it was business as usual.”

Guerin missed the holiday party and also hasn’t been returning any messages.

In a fast moving story, there were rumors on Monday of the Caps and Wizards looking into a new arena location. Turns out they weren’t just “looking” and a deal is already in place. $2 billion arena district in Alexandria, VA subject to approval by the VA legislature.

The WNBA Mystics would stay in DC and I’m assuming Georgetown would as well, though the Hoyas are struggling to get a couple thousand to their games lately.

Chris Russo is the patron saint of all New York sports fans. He screams insults and inanities at the top of his lungs for maybe three hours as a form of communication. He's one of them.

Huh. Maybe he was the Rangers fan I encountered in my one trip to MSG.

a former gopher hockey player I knew was playing against rangers at msg and he’d arranged a few tickets for me. Went to get at box office and lady was having trouble finding them so I had to say the players name who left them. Guy behind me starts yelling how much said player likes to perform oral on other men, among other lovely things. I turn around and see a balding, fat middle aged man all red in the face

That's gonna be a cluster-f.

Fun little trivia from another site:

If this goes through, Virginia will no longer be the most populous state without a big 4 professional franchise playing in its borders. That distinction would then belong to South Carolina.

So the complaint is that he had to wait like a normal person? He got his CT scan immediately and when they deemed he wasn’t in a life threatening situation he went back in line. It's not like he showed up literally dead like Damar Hamlin. Sorry you didn't get a rich person fast pass?

I think the issue most people have, including myself, was clinical staff telling him to go sleep at hotel and come back next day when he could have choked/drowned on his own blood. Waiting is one thing- terrible medical advice is something no one deserves

You should hear what the middle age women shout out from the blues section. Makes that guy seem tame.

Going to MSG is an, umm, experience…

Arizona Coyotes defenseman with severe internal bleeding and open wounds was told by a Dallas hospital to "go check yourself into a hotel and come back in the morning, if you don't choke to death on your own blood first. We're too busy with gunshot victims for you."

Just to tie college hockey into this - the Coyotes employee who stayed with him, Devan McConnell, used to be the strength and performance coach for Lowell.
