Dump Term 2, 1.01: Sleep Now in the Fire

I would bet the odds of secession are pretty good. I don't see how the US holds together...

And yes states will be redrawn, some will merge...and wars within will definitely happen.

If I was to hazard a guess, California or Washington float the idea because of taxes and Donny sends in the military to pacify the revolt. He invokes the Insurrection Act, suspends habeus and away we go. The military will do what they are told up to and including killing civilians since they are now deemed terrorists.

The question becomes...does Canada get involved? How about Mexico? I would think if the Blue States "leave" the allies will help them.
My theory crafting almost always starts with the pacific states, Washington, Oregon, California, as likely being the first to jump. The problem of course is that Washington and California have huge military bases in them plus huge swaths of ruby red Dump territory, Oregon is essentially two islands of Portland and Eugene surrounded by enemy territory. But I-5 and the corridor to the coast is essential to keep intact. Most likely California keeps the orcs at bay while Seattle and Portland become Sarajevo 2.0.

Now the Northeast telling the rest of the country to fuck off and daring Dump to do something is an interesting thought though.

I just don’t see anyone, especially Canada and Europe, getting involved in the actual fighting. It’s not worth it. Now, Russia and China “protecting assets” in Alaska? Sure.

I dont think Canada or Mexico will fight per say...but I think they will help especially if Trump militarizes the border. (which he will) No way BC is going to allow itself to be cut off from Washington State. The truth is though Trump is openly threatening them in his usual mob ways could be seen as a provocation especially if he starts a US Civil War. (because he won't stop at the border if he pacifies the Blue States)

I thought about the idea of the Northeast leaving I just don't know how Upstate NY would handle it.

As long as the interstate corridors remain intact I don’t think the rest of the Northeast will care what upstate NY does. Same with Pennsylvania east of Philadelphia.

The problem for Canada is that Canada is only being held together with popsicle sticks and maple syrup, being able to unite against the US has really been the only thing keeping them together. It’s a delicate balance for them and even a small change could blow the whole thing apart. Though an independent pacific coast could put BC in a tough spot (and not to mention Nevada, Arizona, Alaska, Yukon, Hawaii and potentially New Mexico).

There is one country I could see getting involved though and that’s China. An independent pacific coast could be a very lucrative market for the Chinese, especially EVs and other green tech. I don’t think they’d send troops but it would be an ideal scenario to send equipment.

The biggest problem in any of these discussions though is nukes. There’s a real threat to anyone that would get involved that Dump wouldn’t hesitate to let them fly.

Way too many people are under the impression the job market is and has been great . Maybe once more can experience what I have been, nukes just don’t sound as scary as they used to

My theory ...

Fifty years ahead of schedule for the Battle of Anchorage lore.

Anything south of Albany/Troy will be fine, there’s pretty good swaths of blue. You’d lose Saratoga, Glens Falls and Lake George, and I don’t know if the downstaters that own summer homes there would go for that, so they'd probably have to come with us. Of course, if you raid all of the illegal immigrants from the racetrack there’d be no reason to even go to Saratoga, so that’s a wash. You’d lose the Adirondacks though. Other than that, good luck finding anything worth saving. It’s central and western NY that’d have to worry, but I don’t know if you’d want Syracuse and Rochester, and I’m sure we’d be more than willing to sacrifice Buffalo so Toronto could annex it.

And we all know what happens after that…

Honestly, if anything goes to shit on the west coast, Alaska is screwed. If a ship can’t get out of a west coast port with supplies, Alaska will run out of food and supplies in 2-3 weeks. Could try to fly in supplies but that would take Berlin airlift levels of coordination, and that’s assuming a) there would be enough aircraft and b) the airspace is safe enough to fly through.

EMTALA for abortion about to be declared d-e-d dead with Trump’s administration dropping the lawsuit brought by Biden’s administration against Idaho for refusing to perform them in life-saving situations. I guess the political stunt is coming to an end, right, Raul? Fuckstick retard. This, like everything else Trump has done so far, should end well.

Moar death!!!!!

Kabas has been so damn good so far. Really tempted to subscribe to her. I can't remember if she's fully independent or what. But she's soooo good.

Yeah I thought his tweet about how great things will be for them growing all of the food for domestic consumption, implying that that will mean nothing but great times for them. Let's ignore that they currently focus on things that fetch the best prices in the overall worldwide market, and the focus and supply chain for that has been built over decades, and can't magically start cranking out other goods at the drop of a hat. Especially at the drop of a hat that is picked and re-dropped every other month will the games he appears to be playing with the tariffs. Even if you do re-configure things over time, there's some things we just can't grow.

Listen, if you wanted to have high tariffs to make sure you have complete self-sufficiency, you certainly could give it a try. There's lot of reasons why it would still be a bad idea, but at least it would be an idea. But then it's something you have to plan ahead of time to make sure you have all of the groundwork and coordination laid to produce everything at home. And you have to make the plan, spend several years if not more getting things laid out, and then execute and stick to the plan. Not dangle it around every few weeks like a fucking toy and expect every farm and factory to just change what they're doing at the drop of a hat.
I just want to know what the statute of limitations is for insider trading and securities fraud.

As of now I think she is fully independent but I believe she has done contracted work. She is crushing and she has sources that give her the straight dope.
