haha, no... sadly enough, the only time i play hockey is pick up games at the outdoor rink. most of what i've learned about hockey is all due to the vast collective knowledge of the girls at RF

Gustavus -- 1, River Falls -- 0. 3 minutes left in period 1.
Gusties dominating play to this point. SOG: G -- 7, RF -- 1.
Edit: Now 2 -- 0.
End of period.

Gusties get their 2nd pp goal of the period to make it: 4 -- 0 with 2:45 left.

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

River finally scores with 7:30 remaining: 4 -- 1 Gusties...

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Gusties move on...Final: 4 -- 1.

One semifinal is set...

First-ever meeting between the Gusties and Norwich next Friday at a site still to be determined.

My guess is hosting rights will go in this pecking order. (If a team loses take them off the list and move down.)

1.RIT
2.Middlebury
3.Norwich

Do you think they'll go Norwich and then Middlebury because they gave Norwich the bye? I agree that Midd deserves the #2 consideration but, do you think the NCAA wants to save face? Just wondering....

I speculated that Middlebury passed Norwich in the final rankings. I could be wrong. But, I think they passed them even with Norwich's head-to-head win so that would put them in line to host.

Be interesting to see what the Adrian/RIT game draws. RIT did fill Ritter Arena to capacity when they played Plattsburgh on Jan. 21 for the Black Out Heart Disease fundraiser, then drew nearly 1,400 the next day. With the men playing game two of their AHA Quarterfinal series in the evening, could be a tremendous doubleheader of hockey.

If RIT wins, it's a no brainer that they host next weekend. They draw well, it's a fun place to watch a game, centrally located. Last weekend, RIT drew right around 800 for each ECAC West game, with the students still on break.

According to the regional rankings, posted March 8 on ncaa.com, Midd did pass Norwich:
EAST
1 Rochester Institute of Technology 22-1-2 24-1-2
2 Middlebury 20-4-1 21-4-1
3 Norwich 18-4-1 23-4-1
(Although, I'm not sure if these are NCAA regional rankings.)
