D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

So the comments earlier this year about the NCHA being highly competitive meant that they were competitive amongst themselves right?

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

River Falls sat at, or near the top of the polls for the majority of the year even managing to become the # 1 in the Nation for a few weeks.

Hard to judge anything by Adrian when it works it looks real good. When it doesn't it looks like today. If you watch them play you can see they have no formal coaching. They have no clue how to run a PP,PK,breakout, cycle, regroup, gap control and have centers that can count the games between face off wins. What they have is a tremendous amount of talent which the coach has let waste away. Having watched them play for the last four years I can truly say that every player has gotten worse each year. In fact it is easy to see when you look at the stats . I bet the coach did not even know she had a line playing minus 3 halfway through period 2 and the odds of that line scoring were like winning the lotto. The stats back me up on both of those statements. The team lacks leadership focus and a plan. Who should do that I ask.

Looks like its time for me to do what I hate most and become a Gustie fan.

Adrian sickens me. I don't know how Gustavus does it every year but they get their **** together at the right time and don't look back. River Falls has been struggling the past few weeks and clearly a poor coaching decision had an effect on that game.

Its hard to base the strength of the NCHA on a team that is so inconsistent as Adrian. I thought Adrian could have put up a better fight, but clearly the coach didn't have them ready to play.

Out to dinner with the wife - what's the Middlebury score?

Can I send you some black and gold face paint? No question RF got out coached!

It's just a little disappointing that a obviously inferior team like Adrian can't even play a competitive playoff game, while a couple of teams that really gave RIT a battle...are sitting on the sidelines. Unfortunate for the eastern teams...and embarassing for Western teams fighting for credibility.

Will McCrea receive a suspension for her game misconduct against Adrian?

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Wow, we agree on something dogwatcher! I have seen them play 4 times and noticed the same on pp, pk, breakout etc. I don't think other NCHA teams, exploited that this year! Did RIT exploit there breakout? I feel Adrians defense as a whole is slow, was that exploited? I didn"t see other NCHA teams exploit it. To me they don't handle pressure well, either. I didn't get to see the game today. I saw the shots were 34 to 44, was that correct? Thats not bad. It was Adrians biggest game ever, were they nervious? I still hear the WSU goalie is coming. Thats puzzling, because to me Michilin kept them in the games I saw! Adrian should always be a talented team, the only other team they compete against is WSU to get players. And until resently, WSU didn't take many girls from Michigan. If it weren't for budget cuts he still wouldn't! Until they get new leadership in East Lansing and Ann Arbor, Adrian should have plenty of talent!

So you again you are saying the west is a bunch of bottom feeders?

I am curious if that shot count can be right for Adrian -- you are outplayed 10-1 and the shots are that close? I don't buy it. I listened a bit on the radio and didn't get the sense Adrian even spent that much time in the RIT zone. Is this homer padding or the real deal or were the shots all from the blueline on dump ins?

PS -- those poor gals are still on the bus now, and when they get home -- they have to set their clocks ahead yet another hour -- double ouch

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

It was the number of power-plays for each squad that kept the shots close. Big difference was nearly all of Adrian's shots were from past the circles, where a ton of RIT shots were grade A's from in tight. Every goal except for Stack's second was from in tight. Michelin was not good at all for Adrian. She allowed 7 on 21 shots, with at least three that were surprising that went in, either off bad rebounds, or lack of focus... Chamberlain was as advertised, she made a few big saves when needed.

Compared to last weekend, this was completely different on both sides (RIT good, Adrian, not so much).

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

RIT must have (been) called off the 'dogs -- they didn't score on their latest powerplay and let the Bulldogs on the board 8-1 4mins left in 2nd.

GoJ: is school out yet? ("RIT has no...")?

Can anyone explain what the "HT" moniker stands for in the RIT-Adrian Boxscore on Colleges stats. "LL" is last lead change, "GW" is Game Winning Goals. What is "HT". Two of RIT's goals had this moniker beside it.

Re: D-III Scores and Highlights: The stretch run and the road to the 'chip

Hat trick. Stack and Kunichika each had three goals for RIT.
