And on the other side of the country, Florida State is looking to challenge the ACC Grant of Rights and leave the conference early.

My only hope for Notre Dame finally doing the right thing is for FSU to blow up the ACC, so I have to root for the Criminoles for the second time in a month.

Not one dime of their separation payment had better come out of this Florida taxpayer’s pocket. So long as that is true, more power to them.

No matter where the money comes from, it all eventually traces back to the general fund.

And what were they going to spend it on instead? Books? Don't Florida's public universities just have their "students" subscribe to Prager?

Ah yes Florida State. Home to such notable non-athlete alumni like Bert Kreischer, Jenn Sterger, and Matt Gaetz.

Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett, a 5 star recruit, arrested for knowingly giving someone an STD. He’ll fit right in down there in Dixie.

Jerry Kill steps down from NMSU following a 10-4 season, their best in 60 years. Not much of a reason given besides that he doesn’t have the energy anymore. It sounds like he may not be entirely giving up football and would like to do something like an analyst role, so hopefully thats a sign his health problems aren’t making a comeback.

I wish him the absolute best.

I don't wish him ill will, but eff him trying to drag UM down over him and Claeys being sent packing. I said back then there was zero chance Kill would withstand the vigor of being a BT coach long-term considering his health, and now he's leaving whatever conference for most likely the same reason a few years later.

I get that sentiment. But I just can't help but feel grateful to a guy who helped us rebuild after Brewster.

Yikes. I have this feeling that this is going to be a normal occurrence with the NIL and portal moving forward.

It's like a monkey paw curling after we all said there were too many bowl games.

Watching the bowl games (as I have nothing better to do), add the old "save myself for the draft to NIL and the transfer portal- what's the point of these bowl games? I was under the impression that it was a reward to the players for a positive season. Every single game so far has had the non-players be a huge part of the game- some really good for the new player (see USC, and question if their original QB is as good as everyone thinks), but most really reduce the quality of play.

The bowl games are already a massive burden on schools- as most lose a ton of money going. It's apparently a burden to the players, too- instead of a reward.

This is where the B1G's revenue sharing helps a ton- as you can at least break even thanks to the big bowl games Michigan, OSU, and PSU get. Does Miami get a share of FSU's game? Or even Vanderbilt get any of Bama's game?

Every conference has revenue sharing. And I’m pretty sure almost all of them do equal revenue sharing for postseason money. The only one I know that doesn’t is the WCC in basketball, and that’s because they wanted to stop Gonzaga from moving conferences.

For media revenue the only conference I know that doesn’t/didn’t do equal sharing was the Big 12 (WCC might be the same here as well) because Texas wanted a larger share so they settled on each team negotiating their third tier rights which is how Texas has the Longhorn Network until the end of this year.
