Coaching Openings

Re: Coaching Openings

Maybe not a "one and done" but this shouldn't be a big surprise. Whether its family or moving on to another program, Sarah wasn't staying long.
Of course Concordia was just a stepping stone for her coaching career. Not a secret that Concordia doesn't pay their coaches well. The thing is she did wonders with the 12 freshman on the team and after starting out 2-8-3 they ended up going 11-2-1 the rest of the way. Team really liked her. What stinks is it's such a short notice to find a replacement. Be interesting to see who that replacement will be.

Rumor has it that Cox had no choice and was forced to resign from his coaching position at Salve. From what I have heard the players along with many of the parents are thrilled to see him leave. I guess there were many underlying issues.

I heard he could no longer justify making the commute from Boston to Newport with his growing family commitments especially if Salve wasn't serious about sponsoring a legitimate varsity program. They don't even have a locker room. He made it well known that this was likely his last season there. But if what you say has some merit, it probably says more about some of the parents and players than it does about a coach who gave your program credibility and who took money out of his own pocket to make sure the players got fed after games. Regardless of the breakup, it will be fun seeing what McCann can do here. Not sure about the recruiting class, but all of their top players are returning from a team that lost only three DIII games last year, Middlebury, Norwich, Castleton. Perhaps a change of scenery for all is just what is needed here.

If they did, it's not listed in their top stories. So you and your daughter know, please share...

Re: Coaching Openings

Any word on who will take the reigns at Castleton now that their coach has moved on? I saw someone on that discussion board mentioned candidates down the road in Northfield.....I gotta say I doubt that will happen.....any thoughts.

Re: Coaching Openings

Did someone post there was a change afoot for Concordia (Minn)? Or is that another memory failure of mine?

Any news since?

Sounds like they want a news media coordinator....and oh yeah...can you coach ice hockey too?

What happened to Miss Rider? Was she dismissed or did she leave on her own?
The job may be posted as such because they have someone specific in mind that fits the job description! Just a thought.
