Jerry York is as good it gets in college coaching -- He's probably the most-admired coach in the game today. Gwozdecky, Parker, Comley, Berenson, Lucia, and Eaves have all won NCAA Crowns in recent years and while all of them will retire as legends of the game, the on-ice effectiveness, the squeaky-cleanness of his program and nice-guy-ness of York puts him at the very top of the game, IMHO.

That's got to be the toughest start to a season that I can remember. You're right Swami, it doesn't get any easier after that. The WCHA is going to be a typical meat grinder as always and only the strongest will survive.

I can see Denver doing well in these games though. 3 points @ Vermont was an excellent start, especially the show of grit to come back on Friday night. This team has talent, no question...just need to see if it has the ability to stand up to the elite of the country and show the ability to beat those teams. 3 Teams that have been in very recent Frozen Fours, not an easy task, but I think Denver is up for it.

That really is an insane schedule! I like Denver (and witnessed them win a NC in person in Boston a few years back). While it could be a rough go at the start of the year, the Pioneers will certainly be battle tested come March.

I'm very very glad to be facing them in October.

No. Just Friday Games in the fall.
Fox Sports Rocky Mountain does not do Saturday night hockey games during college football season.

I'm not going to disagree with Swami's likelihood of a sweep prognostication, but a Sweep would be a major accomplishment for BC. For a defending national champion to come off just one game's preparation, after a summer of being lauded by the fans, media and the school defies logic. To come into Magness at 4,000 ft. above sea level and humble our Pioneers on back to back nights would be an amazing feat.

Good luck to both teams. Hope DU comes out firing on all cylinders tonight.

I absolutely agree and don't buy into the sweep talk at all. Honestly, i am hoping we can get a split. I don't see a way BC sweeps DU out there, #1 defending champs or not, that is one tall order as you said. I can't wait for 9:30 to roll around
