I'll support Chambers---maybe it was a situation where the interviewees felt a little guarded talking about it publicly.
It's just a little weird to me, still, that Jesse was the one to reach out to Malone, and it doesn't seem like Malone has made much of an effort in response. I'm not condemning him for it, but I think the situation is a little odd from Malone's perspective. I would have felt awful if I had been involved in a hit like that, even taking any notion of "fault" out of the equation. It's surprising to me that Malone didn't fly out to see Jesse at some point in his recovery. (Maybe he did and we just don't know about it???)
