Re: All Things Denver XXX

Interesting fact brought up by Steve Miller in today's post-game interview with Jay. This year's senior class is the first class in DU history to make the NCAAs all four years of their careers. Remember before 1969, frosh weren't allowed to play.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

It's surprising to me that Malone didn't fly out to see Jesse at some point in his recovery. (Maybe he did and we just don't know about it???)

I agree with others that it is hard to sense "tone" in a written interview. It sounds to me like Malone felt horrible about it, but that just might be my homer green goggles. :)

I don't recall Paukovich flying out to visit Bina in the hospital. ;)

I would love to see the Pioneers take them to the woodshed with a 5-1 drubbing.

You got your wish, you just got the score wrong. :D

Think Chambers said Martin and Malone were going to meet at the hotel in St. Paul.

I am under the impression that they already did meet.

On another subject, does anyone know if Puck Swami decided to grab a pail and officially bail?

From what I heard is that nothing formal was set up for them to meet but they ran into each in the lobby of the hotel and that is what Chambers wrote about.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

With 6 of 10 games complete tonight, DU is 7th in PWR. Yale has clinched the #1 overall seed and UND is currently sitting at #2. DU and UND would be in the same region if things stayed this way. Four games left tonight and things can still change.

Edit: With all 10 games complete DU is at 6th in PWR and in the same region as #3 BC. A DU win tomorrow could get them up to 5th or 4th depending upon the outcomes of other games. A loss could drop them only as low as 7th. They are guaranteed a #2 seed with the remote possibilty of the 4th #1 seed.

Friday's 3 stars of the game

First Star: Drew Shore (Denver)
Second Star: Anthony Maiani (Denver)
Third Star: Sam Brittain (Denver)

Re: All Things Denver XXX

DU has moved up to 6th in the PWR. Michigan drops to 7th. Frickin' Merrimac is in 5th. Merrimac? Really?

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Which could very well wind up being St. Louis.

To me, it just doesn't matter. To win the NC, to be the best team in the nation, you gotta beat the teams you are given. Side note: Do the shrimp grinder at Broadway bar. Best sandwich ever!

Re: All Things Denver XXX

I certainly have not spent much of my time studying PWR, but is there any way DU can be a 1 seed given the remaining games? Of course, this would assume (a very big assumption) Du beats UND for the Broadmoor.

I was just playing with the PWR predictor and DU can get that 4th #1 seed. In all of them DU has to beat UND. We basically need Miami and Merrimack to lose to WMU and BC.

It is possible, however, I think Merrimack, Michigan, and Miami have to lose.
