Re: All Things Denver XXX

Did you see last night the stat where we are on a 3 year cycle for the Broadmoor? 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008,?

It would only be right if we won tonight.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Fun times here in St. Paul. Lots of great restaurants and bars withing walking distance of the X. St. Paul looks like a great place to live. Very clean, nice old buildings and a vibrant night life.

Almost every person is wearing a Sioux jersey within an eight block radius of the arena. Check that, every frickin' person is wearing a Sioux jersey.

The Final 5 is first class all the way. Why Wisconsin & Minnesota want to abandon all this tradition and fun, seems crazy to me.

You can see why WCHA teams might suffer a letdown in the NCAA's after the Final 5. All the fans, first class NHL barn, TV exposure and exciting games and then western teams get sent to regionals in Albany or some crappy arena in a podunk town.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Thanks for the update, dg. Though I hope you didn't run into those large north Dakota women sitting behind gwoz last night. They looked scary and I would not want to fight them. Nice effort by the boys last night. Workmanlike. We just wore them down with our depth. Should be a great game tonight. I think I will be out for beers but it will hopefully make for good buzzed viewing on the dvr later. Go DU!!! And congrats on the engagement, Dubbie!

Sounds like a good time DG. Hopefully those green people will be thinned out in three weeks. Where do you suggest staying for the FF. You at the Sanit Paul?

Doubtful the Saint Paul hotel would have rooms, but if you can get one there it would perfect location although surely pricey.

I'm out by the airport and I booked a "package deal" that included airfare & 3 nights hotel from Continental.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

From Pricelees over onthe PWR thread. Direct TV channels are noted.

8:00 ET: WCHA Championship #1 North Dakota vs #2 Denver (668, 683)
If North Dakota wins: They secure the #2 overall seed; Denver cannot be a #1
If Denver wins: Denver can be the final #1 seed if Miami and Merrimack both have lost.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Is a Gwozdecky-Blasi-Appert regional possible?:eek::D
probably not

DU is in North Dakota's regional as they are # 2 and #7 in final PWR. Looks like it will be in Green Bay with UND playing RPI and DU playing WMU.

Interesting. Things could get shuffled. There's a chance we could end up with Yale instead which would be a major gift. Hell of an effort tonight by the Pios. We go into the tourney with our heads up high and Sammy having some major confidence. If you do draw UND, I think there's a good chance they go down. They haven't lost in 13 straight. Statistically the chances of them running the table are slim--even though there a darn good team.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Congrats to your guys on a great game tonight, instant classic! It's one of those games where it was too bad someone had to lose.
To me, it just doesn't matter. To win the NC, to be the best team in the nation, you gotta beat the teams you are given.
Bingo! This is what I keep telling UND fans who want to avoid BC in the brackets.

We do travel well! I was at a game in Mankato a couple years ago, and I swear there were more Sioux sweaters in the stands than MSU-M! Walking out after the game that night I overheard a Sioux fan shouting out "It's like being at REA, I love it!" :D

That doesn't make much sense. Wouldn't the best team statistically be the favorite? The chances of any one team running the table is slim. The best teams have the best odds at doing that. I'm not saying that North Dakota will definitely run the table, but to say that they won't because they've won so much is rediculous.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

DU, CC, and AFA all going dancing...and the Avalanche actually got 2 points tonight!

Dogs and cats, living together...

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Maybe Seth's boys knock off Sioux in first round.

Could very well happen. Anything can happen in the NCAA Tournament. Both of our teams should worry about winning a game in the NCAA Tournament before anything else. We don't even know if we'll be in the same regional, but we'll find out tomorrow.
