2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Vance vs head of lettuce, which lasts longer?

several reports now of how unhappy dementia Donnie is with his own pick

carry him to term, *******

This is so much more complicated than Biden bowing out I think, because he's already received the votes. Not saying I think the GOP isn't going to goose step their way to a new one but I have to think it's more complicated than pre-convention swaps.

Ugh, no please.

Whitmer would be great, but i can't see a two woman ticket winning because of the misogyny in the US. I'm also selfish and want her to finish her term in Michigan. It *just flipped all blue in 2022, and I don't want to see it go back so quickly.

Pritzker, IMO, has skeletons in his closet that could potentially torpedo any aspirations after being VP. The sprint to November from here is beneficial politicslly (and physically), but absolutely makes him more scrutinized later. He's the heir to the Hyatt hotel chain as well. He already flew too close to the sun politically when his tax reduction stunt was found out. Apparently when you're rich, it's frowned upon by the commoners to yank all your toilets out of your house when it's being renovated so you get a tax break from the county for having an inhabitable home.

Agreed on Pritzker, mainly because we don't need a billionaire from a state already going blue on the D ticket. Blah blah blah, creates appearance of hypocrisy and conflict of interest, etc.

Whitmer is 52 and I know her name has been floated for a future POTUS run, but I'm not convinced. If Harris wins, assuming she serves two terms, Big Gretch will be 60 when the nomination is up for grabs again in 2032. Certainly not too old, but what does she do to stay relevant until then? If Peters were to retire from the Senate in 2026 when he'll be 67 (far from a guarantee), being Senator could be a vehicle for keeping her name in the national press for the foreseeable future. I could also see her accepting a cabinet post, but which one IDK.

At least in Michigan he’s stuck with him. Parties have to submit their nominees within a business day of their convention.

I'll admit I had a sickening feeling when I read the letter from Biden. But seeing the groundswell of support around Harris has me excited. It's young blood in the game.

Yep. I have no issue admitting I was wrong. Biden played 4D chess and really made it seamless. It still sucks on some levels because it soundboard have to be this way...but you can hear how proud he is about all this when he talks. (Obviously from beyond the grave)

I think Tim Miller said it best when he said we are jumping out of our seats because we have been waiting for someone to really come out swinging. I mean she nailed her intro and people are excited to see her just rip that guy a new one. Before we were content...now we are pumped! Yesterday was the first day in weeks I felt good opening social media! Seeing Trump and the GOP melt down over this is great! They are scared...

Best part is we stopped hearing about Trump's conviction because of the Court and Bidens age...she will bring it up EVERY DAY! She is playing to a jury for the next 100 days and it is going to be beautiful!

McGovern did it in '72...but I am pretty sure the rules have changed since then. Plus they run the risk of people getting mad. Even a few is deadly to Trump. Vance was a vanity pick...because they thought they had it locked and wanted Obama numbers. Now he is worthless.

Some bots were trying to make it trend that Nikki Haley might replace him...it didn't go well. The fact that her voters started a PAC for Kamala is delicious because no way she didnt endorse it behind the scenes.

They are stuck with Vance. I am not even sure who they have that would replace him at this point. Rubio causes Constitutional issues, NoDak guy is a dud, MAGA-T-G would probably be who the base wants but she is toxic, Noem is a loser...they need time to properly vet or they will end up like McGovern did. (He picked a guy with bad skeletons and got smoked by Nixon)

"I love you guys" is the new "Please clap." :p

MSNBC did a side by side of those...Maddow showed it a lot so she could keep laughing at it!

If you can find it look for when Vance "walked the picket line" as mentioned by the Teamster President. It's awkward. He shows up in Ohio State gear...talks to a Dem rep there, tries to shake her hand but she won't give him the photo op so she fist bumps him. (Which he screws up Revenge of the Nerds style) then as he turns to talk to the workers on strike they walk away to avoid being seen with him. It's sad...

As someone said on Threads Vance looks like the guy at the Bachelors Party who doesnt know the other groomsman.

Know it’s all relative, but mookie is an old fart and Harris is a couple years older than him.
this isn’t a youth candidate

Lmao fox had Tim walz on today and dementia Donnie is big mad

I saw Walz speak at a hunters convention...lots of non-Dems and Trumpers there. He had them eating out of the palm of his hand. He legit got a huge applause at the end. I love that he is going on Faux cause they won't be able to touch him.

His wife looks like she wants to die.

speaking of wives, as seen on socials: “if Kamala raises any more money, Melania will want to marry her”

Usually they'll take a Cabinet position if they want to stay in the beltway news.

Walz doing the media tour is either A) Entirely part of his rules committee role, or B) Part of the vetting process and getting his name out there to test the waters (or was told that one of his key negatives is recognition).

If it's B, I'm a bit surprised because it means he's probably closer to the top of the list. I think....
