Woman says a few years ago in a large college psychology lecture class, professor makes students a deal: for the final exam, he'll give everyone a 95%, BUT they must be unanimous in their decision to accept.
Of the 250 person lecture, 20 students hold out.
So he asks then the reason behind the vote, giving four choices. The twenty hold outs voted for "I don't want someone else to get the same grade as me even if they didn't study as much."
Professor says it's the most important example he could do all semester, and in the ten years he had previously done it, no other class accepted the 95% either.
Statically, only 10% of the class will get a 95% or higher, so those people were likely voting against their own self interests.
