2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Someone doesn't understand the definition of 'majority'.

Please enlighten us Mensa.

Majority /mə-j?r′ĭ-tē

noun
  1. The greater number or part; a number more than half of the total.
  2. The amount by which the greater number of votes cast, as in an election, exceeds the total number of remaining votes.
  3. The political party, group, or faction having the most power by virtue of its larger representation or electoral strength.

News stories aren't exactly clear but it seems like this guy never even lived in Alaska? His damn registration papers have a residence address in South Dakota. I see the argument is used that you don't technically have to reside in the state until you're elected, but I don't get how the state even allows someone to sign up without an Alaska address somewhere on the page...

4. Not 49.90%

(I mean, not that it will do us any good at this point.)
(Also final tally is still subject to change.)

How clever and cute, such a gotcha. Even if you round up, still dont have the +1. I guess an overwhelming MAJORITY in the Electoral College will need to suffice for now. :-)

Just to put a bow on this thread ... despite rumblings that the DC Democrat franchise might be looking for new leadership going forward, Lucifer quells those rumors ex post facto, outlining xer vision for an increasingly dark future ...

Imagine if Tucker worked for CNN:

Speaking from Moscow, Tucker Carlson announced that he had completed an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. As usual, Carlson spread pro-Kremlin propaganda, falsely accusing the United States of killing Russian soldiers and claiming that “We’re closer to nuclear war than any time in history.”

Rural Cosplay is a real thing.

Right after the election happened, I brought up that there are many, MANY people out there that feel like their lifestyle has been villified. I get that many here just blew this off, but the video shares some insight to how many people this view may encompass. This is a lesson that needs to be learned moving forward.

I get that most things "Country" are looked down upon in this small cross section of the world that is the USCHO Message Board. But this is one area where the cross section here is disconnected from the reality of the electorate. The people mentioned are the ones who flipped from 2020 to 2024 and put us in our current predicament.

And as I said, that speaks more to their insecurities and lack of self esteem than it does about the "liberal elites looking down on them". As I also said, you think anyone from NYC, LA, or Boston spends two seconds worrying about what people in Kaintucky think about their lifestyle? I'll give you a hint, they don't. You think anyone gives a shit when bumpkins make jokes about them and their 'avocado toast'? Again, they don't.

That's cause they're well adjusted, living their lives, doing the things they want to do, and don't give a crap of other people look down on them for doing so. Rural America needs to get over their feelings of inferiority and just worry about themselves. And we'd all be a lot better off of they weren't spending all their time sticking their noses in other people's business.

Live and let live. A good lesson for everybody. If it ain't affecting you personally, then mind your own business and leave other people alone. Worry about your own life, not everyone else's.

I lost a whole post because of this shitty board.

So here it is again in brief.

As I said before, you think anyone in NYC, LA, or Boston gives two craps what someone in Kaintucky thinks about their lifestyle? They don't.

Rural America needs to get over their insecurities and lack of self esteem, their feelings of persecution and inferiority, and just live their lives, and mind their own business.

As MAGA is so fond of saying, "fuck your feelings"

You are right, no one in LA, Boston, or NYC gives a crap. But people in the Burbs of Milwaukee, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, DC, and Atlanta certainly do. And what did those people collectively say six weeks ago?

"Welp, the Democrats couldn't get anything done in the two years they had a sweep of congress, so might as well vote the Republicans back in and let the works just get gummed up for another decade."

Looking back, how the #$%@ did Bill Clinton get as much done in his presidency as he did with both sides of the legislature being opposite him for six years? Did that much get done in his first two years he was able to coast?

Also, the racism of electing Obama is fairly obvious when seeing how much of a stranglehold the Dems had in both houses his first two years.

My kingdom for a 50 year blue wave we haven't seen since FDR.

Pork barrel politics was still a common thing during Clinton.
