Let's just say I am glad you were not calling the shots during WW2. While we were not as indiscriminate (or as purposeful at times) as the Russians, we killed and injured an amost uncountable number of Germans and Japanese in an all out effort to win (and end) the war. I was born almost certainly because of that, because my father, a veteran who started serving when we were still officially mobilized for war but after the fighting had ended, DIDN'T have to go to Japan and be put in harm's way to fight fascism.

In 2012 I didn't believe Mitt Romney was an enemy of this democracy. I just thought he was not the proper person to be president and it was more than sufficient to simply vote for Obama over Romney. trump and his followers are not the same thing. These people would deny your very humanity and the humanity of a lot of other people in this forum and would just as soon see you dead as to see you prosper. So I'm not unhinged. I'm actually quite well grounded. But I am also just as concerned that too many Americans will continue to go high when they go low. It isn't working. If it was working we would not be winding our way to another close election that we could lose absolutely as easy as we could win. And then in another 4 years the slow decline into authoritarianism and fascism will probably no longer be slow.

I suppose our institutions could still save us though.

It isn't as far-fetched as you might like to believe. My grandfather killed Japs. My uncle killed Germans. Yes, it was a declared war.

What about the Jews and the other victims of the Holocaust? Was war declared on them? Did they deserve to die? Did the Germans burning them to ashes deserve to die?

Let's modernize this. At the very moment the shots rang out, Sniffles was expounding on his plan to round up and send 20 million people to camps - then deport them (at least, the ones who survived). Do they deserve it? What about those that cheer it? What about the Border Patrol agents? The ones "just following orders." They get a free pass because no one declared war?

What about when they round up people like Miss Thundercat and send them to a "re-education" camp so they can learn to be the 'correct' gender again? Still not acceptable to resist?

What about when they round up people like me and send us to extermination camps? That OK? Still unacceptable to resist?

It isn't like these people are going to declare war and put an army in the field. It's already started. Heather Heyer. George Tiller. The victims in a church in Charleston. A grocery store in Buffalo. A synagogue in Pittsburgh. A nightclub in Orlando. Other places where people wanted to start a second Civil War.

People are going to have to decide how much is acceptable before they start to act. If you are thinking you will just let them haul us away and only resist when they come for you, I have bad news for you

Well it won't matter much...most companies will go belly up as soon as they end the FDIC and de-regulate the banks. No one with an IQ higher than 20 will leave their money in banks because it will be gambled like a drunk bachelor in Vegas. The run on the banks will make 2008 look like a minor correction. "The Full Faith and Credit of the United States" will be dead. Between that and the tariffs and tax cuts we will be lucky if inflation is under 20%. The dollar will be worthless.

And before someone like say Hovey tells me I am being hyperbolic...in 2008 when AIG was about to go under and Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy the credit markets froze up. Companies like GE that were healthy could not get credit to run their daily operations and were at serious risk. This is why the CEOs balked at Trump after their meeting. The plan might save them a few million on taxes but it will functionally destroy the US Economy and could trigger a major depression worldwide. I mean this is Hoover level stupid.

That doesn't even take into account all of the other bad decisions that will likely lead to society crapping the bed. Take a look at their plans for education...anyone in school starting next year will be lucky if they arent completely illiterate.
