2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

It's pretty clear there are now only two classes of people who once called themselves Democrats: Those who roll over and quit, and Pollyannas. And don't try to kid yourself into thinking you don't belong to one or the other.

I wouldn’t say that I’ve quit, but I can’t say there’s a bright light shining anywhere near. If we survive this mess to the next election, our chances for the mid-terms look good. After that point, we will have to see.

If you call yourself a Democrat as in a member of that party then I have almost as little regard for you as I do republicans. At least republicans have been openly telling us who they are for decades now. Democrats still leave their knives behind when they go to a gun fight and take their pillows instead. I found it rather tiring how much people were impressed with Harris and Walz calling republicans "weird" as if that was going to win the election.

Biden has immunity so right now he should be going scorched Earth. Let them spend the first 2 years of their administration undoing all he does in the next 2 months and by then their dysfunctionality will be on display in time for mid-terms. Instead Biden will spend the next two months being "presidential" and reaching out to the other side to do everything he can to ensure a smooth transition. F uc k that. Our side plays by the rules and it gets us trump. Their side literally 5h!ts on the constitution and commits felonies. How is playing by the rules going to do anything to save our country? 71,000,000 Americans voted to save democracy instead of letting a known fascist return to the White House. Well, the known fascist is going back but we don't need to assist him in turning the entire country fascist. Maybe instead do something to actually lead those 71,000,000 voters who knew better.

Nick Fientes may have just earned himself an assault charge.

I read this morning that a woman was in his (doxxed) neighborhood and after prompting from another woman on the street, went up to his house to ring his doorbell.

instead of not answering, or politely (yet firmly) asking them to leave, he opens the door like he's performing a police raid, pepper sprays the woman, shoves her off the porch, steals her phone (which was recording), and closes the door. All filmed and cloud recorded (as mentioned) by the assaulted woman.

Police were called and a report filed.

The one photo looks like he has a Ring video doorbell. Asking if she was in the right to ring the doorbell is neither here nor there, especially with his overreaction.

He could have easily just ignored it. Disabled the chime. Called police to ask trespassers to leave. Nope, big boy had to mace her while sh*tting his pants.

Also, I am absolutely loving the sh*t out of the women who are clapping back on Threads to these sh*theads parroting the "Your body, my choice," line Fuentes spouted. They're learning awfully quickly which stage of the FAFO phase they're in.


One woman who aired her DM's got a message from them asking for her to take them down, how will anyone learn if she does that. The response? "You're standing knee deep in the learning part."

Did not watch any Sunday Shows, and have not watched any MSNBC since the election.

I tried getting through Bill Maher but I was so disgusted with him about 20 minutes in I shut it off.

I did watch the election story on 60 Minutes last night, and John Oliver. Came to the same conclusion I've had all along. The people in this country are dumb. D U M B dumb.

My wife and I have witnessed Thai youth moving to the right, we saw Duterte elected here, Germany has moved to the right, Macron in September unveiled a new government dominated by conservatives and centrists, there's been a right shift in Italy, Finland, Greece, etc., and there's more at play here than the average human becoming less intelligent.

This. America is not alone in this trend. There’s more coming as well, Canada is likely to elect a Conservative government sometime next year. Propaganda and misinformation being allowed to spread through social media is the biggest culprit.
