2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

I'd say they're more misinformed than actually dumb, and sadly it's a global epidemic. My wife and I have witnessed Thai youth moving to the right, we saw Duterte elected here, Germany has moved to the right, Macron in September unveiled a new government dominated by conservatives and centrists, there's been a right shift in Italy, Finland, Greece, etc., and there's more at play here than the average human becoming less intelligent.

Dumb, misinformed, ignorant. All synonyms in my eye.

lmfao, routinely quotes Rachel Maddow ^^^^

They're not. Dumb implies an inability to learn. Misinformed and ignorant both imply lacking knowledge or awareness but aren't automatically the same as being dumb.

There's also the (4th) option which implies dumb. And that option is those that have the capacity to learn, and the awareness but would rather fuck their neighbor than vote for their own best interests. And that is not only dumb but stupid.

Vote in "their" best interests like your backyard of Minneapolis. Its a Marixists paradise of elected Gimps and a the results are a complete shi*t hole. Fraud that is becoming unmeasurable, complete failure of public education, sky rocketing crime and someone has to foot the bill to fund the decline and the answer is sky rocketing property taxes.

Go watch Maddow and get informed. Twit.

I just think dumb is a lazy adjective. I'm ok with uneducated, blind, willfully ignorant, selfish, insensible... :p

I get it.

Meanwhile the Fuhrer is already putting into place a border czar that was the architect of family separation last time, and he's demanding recess appointments for all his people.

This. America is not alone in this trend. There’s more coming as well, Canada is likely to elect a Conservative government sometime next year. Propaganda and misinformation being allowed to spread through social media is the biggest culprit.

Not just misinformation. People in all wired cultures gather information in a manner that reinforces what they already believe. This leads to an increase in tribal thinking, a characteristic of a conservative thinking. An increase in tribal thinking on a global scale: If true, is that irony?

If you're buying this burd bullshyt, "Nationalist" might be a more useful term than "tribal."

So, much like entirely too early NFL Mock drafts, I know alot can happen in four years, but who do the Dems have and the GOP have (if Trump doesnt overturn the constitution to let him run again).
So, the GOP seem to be getting ahead of your question early. Right leaning legal experts have been pouring over the 22nd ammendment and there aren't any specific "enforcement" they can find. States aren't barred from putting him on the ballot for a third time, and the ammendment leaves some wiggle room.

So basically we’d either get Obama running again or a civil war (because blue states would be openly defying the federal government)?

This is a stupid theory, even for mooks. They were supposed to add a line saying "Congress and the states will have the power to punish anyone too stupid to be able to count"?

You and I are in agreement with that. But there's legal back doors that were never secured. The language says "elected," and not even the 12th amendment clarifies that language, just leaving a hanging "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

The argument being that it's up to congress to declare eligibility. Which I'm sure they'd run straight up to SCOTUS for a ruling in their favor.

If not, they could run a Vance/Trump ticket.

And with a house in their favor, they just get a hung jury for electoral votes, and get the VP to declare Trump President via the house.

And if the House of Representatives shall not choose a President whenever the right of choice shall devolve upon them, before the fourth day of March next following, then the Vice-President shall act as President, as in case of the death or other constitutional disability of the President

Bingo-bango-he wasnt elected by the public, but he's the President again.

"Economists Fear Trump's Economic Plans Will Spur Inflation."

Even WSJ says we're in for a bloodbath, with simultaneous spikes in inflation, massive job losses, and apocalyptic deficits.

Meanwhile, the companies that bribe the administration will get preferential treatment while their rivals are punished, bond yields will launch into the stratosphere, I'll get richer and buy offshore, and then we'll move to our new Portuguese property and enjoy our spiking I18N returns while the Heartland burns out like Somalia.

This is gonna be so great. :-)
