2012 Presidential Election Part 4

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

my first job i figured i needed X to live. i ask for X + a bit to negotiate. i got X + a - b offered finally and it was fair to me. couple months in i talked to a couple guys who were recently hired and they got more than me because they asked for more and got it. my fault. i had to wait to get a raise after a year. those guys probably went and asked for more than that. happens.

now if your mom was making X and there were 6 other workers, all men, with different starts and beginning salaries and such making X ++.. if it was designed to pay them more than her that blows and is wrong. if it was because they all came in and asked for more and got it and she didn't ask until she found out (like i did) that's a life lesson.

i'm not sure how to read "the minimum" part there... was this like a union shop where the minimum wage was $15/hr for men and she was making $13 or something? that falls under the blows/wrong/bull$hit. but i don't want to assume what 'minimum' means though.
Minimum in regards to company policy for salaried workers. CCI has a union but I'm reasonably certain it's only for the more blue collar workers not the administration.

While I tend to agree with Obama, that's a bad answer politically.

Edit: And then Romeny goes full retard by bringing marriage into a gun rights question.

Remember. When you say marriage it's between 1 man and 1 woman.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

what, a staged townhall with handpicked "undecideds" by a polling company isn't genuine?

Did I miss an Asian questioner in there somewhere? All the other major food groups were represented: Jews, men, women, black, white, young, old, straight (maybe gay, I don't know), Latino, but not an Asian.

just had wacko white guy question there to bring it all together.... what a gay question (gay in the bad way, not the gay good way that has nothing wrong with it)

I still like my debate format:

Next time they need to give the moderator a taser, a baseball bat, and a shotgun. Go over your time or off topic? You get the taser. Do it again? the bat. A third time? Shortened election season.

A win, win, win, win situation.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

Romney made a big mistake early on by asking Obama a direct question. You never cede the floor. Especially when you're not going to get a direct answer.

Brutal @ sskicking of Mittens by Obama. That's the stuff. BTW, what exactly was in those "binders full of women" that people were showing him? Was it Hustlers or Playboys?

Some thoughts:

1) Best moderator yet. Kept them both as honest as she could. Funny because she had the lowest expectations.

2) C-SPAN = best channel to watch. No pundits!

3) Speaking strictly of Presidential debates, not primaries or other offices, this was the most contentious debate in my memory.

Now that that's out of the way, by far the most memorable moment for me was Mittens getting humiliated by the moderator on the Benghazi question. Idiot tries to call out Obama and the moderator corrects him by saying yes indeed the transcipt showed Obama mentioned it as an act of terrorism. One of the most embarassing moments I've ever seen in any debate.

Bottom line is Obama brought it and Romney wilted. Couldn't even come close to explaining his $8T in tax cuts and spending hikes. His flunkies on CNBC aren't even trying to bail him out. Good show.

Will this performance save Obama's a*s? Maybe. "Hey, get me a case of whatever Biden's drinking." He needed to stop the slide toward Romney. And those people aren't diehard Dems. Naturally, Rover's got a reltney, but he's not who Obama needed to persuade. We'll find out.

The only act of terror mentioned in that transcript was related to the original 9/11 attack. Two weeks later in front of the UN it was still due to the video tape according to Obama.
