Someone commented on another site I read that the Brazilians also use the vuvuzela, but they don't play them constantly and actually play them to carry the beat of chants that they do, not just to make noise.

I believe the vuvuzela actually originated in South America.

Lalas is a fool, trying to excuse the ref's poor performance re: red card for Cahill by saying the ref might have a different style in Mexico. That league is so dirty and physical. That tackle might not even be a yellow in the domestic league.

Yes, but it's the World Cup. This always happens at the World Cup. Learn it, accept it. That foul, at the World Cup, is going to be a red. Everytime.

I'm not convinced just yet. The US could have laid a similar beating on Australia last weekend.

That foul has already happened about 6 times and not been a red. :rolleyes:

I agree with you, it was probably a yellow.

However, he also could have gotten a yellow for incessant fouling thirty seconds earlier. Two yellows = one game is a big difference from straight red = two games, so he still should feel cheated.

Straight read not equal two games. Violent Conduct often carries an extra suspension, but Serious Foul Play usually does not, and I would assume that Cahill's red was recorded as SFP.

Before the us game there were very loose in officiating (unlike epl games that I watch), hen the us-eng game had a bunch to whistles and yellows.

Three red cards today seems to indicate as much (yes, I know the other two came thanks to two yellows).
