Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

yes it was 9 straight shutouts and 14 overall on the season although id still give the nod to adrian cause theyre only loss was to utica somehow that norwich team lost to middlebury castleton and tied usm and cortland back when they sucked

They went through a couple bumps but that team was playing unbeatable hockey the last 2 months of the season. I’ve never seen anything like it and probably never will again.

Pshen only played in six games and Roberts SAA was .877.

Yeah, those defections don't seem so bad when you look at the numbers.

I know nothing about the new goalie, but I'm fairly confident that Landsberger can hold down the fort for the foreseeable future. Hope the new guy is above average, because I see Sturtz as strictly an emergency option, at this point.

The 2nd half should be interesting. I can envision UU running the table aside from the Genny weekend, during which anything might happen...

That weekend could make/break this season.

Even with all the games available that I'm interested in tonight, the Oswego game will be my primary focus. A win will bolster Utica's ranking more than any remaining games, aside from the Genny weekend.

OSU used to be the biggest game of the season, back in The Day...

2-0 Utica Midway through the 2nd the aud haunts us. It's not even Utica the team 4 other schools have played us in that building. Wasn't this game originally supposed to be at the nexus center? Smart move to switch it back props to u guys

No never, they did it once and never again unless absolutely necessary from what I understand

Nice win for us tonight

More importantly, the loss for Geneseo, as well as a big win for Adrian over Trine has us up to 2nd in the NPI

Also fun fact, as of this moment, the best four schedules in the country belong to the UCHC:

Chatham - 1
Brockport - 2
Manhattanville - 3
Utica - 4

That could mean something or it could not, but it's a cool change in the UCHC narrative for now

Well, that's a key part of the calculus, as long as you actually win vs. the strong teams...

I thought that OSU looked good, the sandbaggers' comments over on the Oswego thread notwithstanding. Utica's new goalie is a welcome addition.

Now, let's figure out how to take a game or two v. Genny.

A much closer game than was expected, but a win is a win (says Captain Obvious).

Piros got the start tonight, interested in seeing him with my own eyes tomorrow.

(My stream didn't work from Rye, but when do they get anything right down there?)

That one was a bit too close for comfort. Another under-tall goalie slamming the door on Utica (almost) too often.

But, the good guys pulled it out.

I like this team. Does anyone else who's seen them recently have an opinion?

(Just asking. Starting to feel like a voice in the wilderness here.)

It doesn't matter. The ending is always the same.
