Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

I didn't see either "infraction" that lead to the protracted 5x3, but I had to run out to buy some Dramamine somewhat later.

Can't wait to see decent production values, and hear a PxP person who has a clue, tomorrow.

Yeah, you've got a big time, DI program at Utica. Sorry we couldn't do any better.

Nobody said anything like that. Neither program garners the least little bit of National attention. Both of them are backwaters, as is all of D-3 hockey.

Genny is a fast team, and fun to watch. But, it seemed as though the refs might have tilted the ice a bit in the early going.

Feel free to troll on this thread tomorrow night, should Genny win. I expect UU to enjoy some home cooking then, but Genny is certainly talented enough to beat anyone I've seen this year, on any given night.

I have tuned into Geneseo streams that were far better. I will leave it at that.

Yes, it has been an issue at times this year. (That said, I do hope the two schools manage to renew an old rivalry, as Tommy Berry calls it. Tonight suggests we're off to a good start.)

Yes just a tie but take the extra point in the standings. Home ice will be big come playoff time with Geneseo. Like Fish said, some questionable officiating. Giving the home team a 5 on 3 less than five minutes into the game is outrageous.

Both were pretty clear calls from my view in the stands. Taking the hooking to stop the breakaway usually a decent choice, though probably not necessary with how landsberger was playing.

Overall I’d say the refs were the usual d3 brand of consistently inconsistent, but called what I’d say was fairly even game. But, if we want to get into calls you shouldn’t make how about the soft one on geneseo with about 2 minutes left…

Utica dominated most of the game, but Harris was stellar, and Genny converted every opportunity.

I don't want to see them again. Great feet, great hands, great 'tending.

Best team I've seen this year, way more talented than Adrian. It's hard to imagine that even Hobart is better.

Still, I'd have to imagine that both teams will earn a NCAA berth, which would render the UCHC somewhat relevant for the 1st time in its brief history.

The rivalry is well and truly joined. That should bring out the best in both programs. Pundits will now be paying more attention to the UCHC.

It wouldn't be Christmas season if I didn't complain about the momentum-buster that is the TBT.

What's wrong with doing it immediately after the 1st..?

Because the teddy bears are supposed to be given out as Christmas gifts to the underprivileged. I mean, I may be dense here, but I think January 1 kind of misses that goal...

Ummmm... After the first period, Einstein.

Now, that's freaking hysterical. On my part. D'uh! And I kind of agree with you.

BTW, did you hear about the teddy bear toss at some minor league or junior game? I don't know which. The first goal is scored. Teddy bears go flying. But after the goal, there is this huge tussle involving all the players. So while they are all "fighting" teddy bears are still raining down on the ice. It's beyond hysterical. Hollywood could not have staged it funnier.

Well, maybe if they were bludgeoning each other with the stuffed animals...

Too bad "Slapshot" was made before these silly-ass TBT's were invented. Would've been great fodder for some scenes with the Hanson brothers.

Maybe they were fighting over the teddy bears...."That ones mine!" "I saw it first!"
