What's the story on Utica's starting goalie leaving?
I was shocked when I heard this. Would love to hear if any of our Utica posters has any inside scoop.

Heenan told the three goalies he was bringing in a goalie from the University of Dubuque at break. Roberts felt he has been the recipient of Heenan's criticism for poor play and had enough. WI-Eau Claire, Dubuque might be landing spots. Dark horse, Plattsburgh. Also, Pshenichnikov has transferred to Plattsburgh as well. Herrera now in the SPHL.

Sounds like something's amiss in that program. Not a good sign when a player is essentially pushed out of the program while others jump ship midseason. And from what I have seen, the D is as much to blame as the tenders for the team's poor play at times.
Not a good sign according to who? Perform well and you play. Perform bad and you will be replaced. Simple concept. As to your last point, its not the D.
Not a good sign in terms of team culture, for people who care about such things. (I didn't think it was necessary to preface my comments with, "In my opinion," but I was obviously mistaken.) And as you wrote on Nov.30, "It wasn’t a system, what you are looking past is the D and goaltending on this team is simply below average. The D turn the puck over constantly. And yes, I would be surprised if we see much more of Roberts before Christmas.
This stuff happens at every school. The D haven’t been great but it is largely on the goalies. You’ve watched 2 games, one in which Utica severely outplayed Geneseo
And still managed to not win. Just like in March. Which is surprising for a perennial national power.
You know where this stuff doesn't usually happen? At legit perennial national powers.
That’s my point…………Utica outplayed them, and outshot them 52-23.
The perennial shtick is getting funny because ever since you started it, Norbert has never made a final 4. Do you still call Norbert a perennial national contender when they haven’t been to a final 4 in six years? Your stretching your own rules.
I have to give you credit. You're really trying.
My beef with the "perennial national contender" line is that Fishman made it when Utica had one NCAA Tournament win in their history. They now have two. Which is the same amount St. Norbert has in the last three years even though it has "fallen off."
Take a look at the NPI and tell me how easy it is to get to the Frozen Four coming out of the west every year. Yet even though they've "fallen off" they're still usually in the mix.
Nice try. Go hang a banner that matters.
