Utica to the SUNYAC? - Biggar's Column

Re: Utica to the SUNYAC? - Biggar's Column

but, you're leaving out the factor that someone else could form a hockey team. And if this someone else is already an ncaa memmber, it will be a lot quicker than waiting for canton. And now that nazareth has jumped the gun, it may get another school considering a hockey program to also start making a move.

nyu? ;)

"Has jumped the gun"?????

To me that implies a bad (false) start or someone who tries to do something before anyone has a chance to do likewise.

What else do you know that you can't tell us? :D

Re: Utica ~not~ to the SUNYAC

Re: Utica ~not~ to the SUNYAC

Biggar reports that Utica's bid to join the SUNYAC has been rejected

“We have been officially not accepted,” said Heenan. “It was a thanks-but-no-thanks. From a coaching perspective, I believe they are concerned about the greater good of the game to their credit. They were concerned about leaving the other ECAC West teams in a bad situation.”
Now if this is true We should tip our hats to the SUNYAC
NCAA DIII needs the ECAC West with the caliber of teams they have.
How many are ranked in the NCAA rankings that was published just this week?

Is that last question rhetorical?

Re: Utica ~not~ to the SUNYAC

It is, in that the W could very easily be shut of the NCAAs this year, despite (not very arguably) being the best conference in the land.

I can't divine how D-3 "needs" the W, either... It is D-3's red-headed stepchild.

Well ya it was
I mean the ECAC West has at times had the teams that were almost good enough to take maybe all the C pool slots (by the numbers} LOL

Just asking 'cause I don't want to look like a rube telling you that 100% of the league members were ranked in by the NCAA in the top 12 teams in the east, if in fact you already knew that. :D

Re: Utica to the SUNYAC? - Biggar's Column

norm...How do you figure SUNY Canton is joining the SUNYAC. First they don't have enough sports teams to qualify, nor are they making any moves for that to happen. Second, if they were eligable, they still haven't applied to the SUNYAC which is a process that can take up to three years! I don't see them being close at all to joining. In fact, I've heard a few grumblings from people in the SUNYAC that they wouldn't mind seeing Morrisville go away. Not sure if that could even happen but those are the rumors.

Seeing how every SUNYAC team is playing them once next year and twice the year after id say pretty good. Why else would teams be "forced" to give up NC games for Canton....

How do you figure every SUNYAC team is playing them next year? Only Geneseo and Fredonia played them this year. Have you seen everyones schedules for next year before anyone else? And who is "forcing" them to play Canton? And I do know for a fact that not all teams are playing them next year.

Maybe the ECAC West should invite Canton. That would give the league its autobid. :)

Derek Dunning, who works for Norwich, posted here earlier that Plattsburgh was dropping Norwich from their schedule to due adding Canton. If that's the case and Plattsburgh is dropping Norwich in favor of Canton, I can guarantee it's being forced. Emery is not going to give his strength of schedule that big a beating on his accord...

Re: Utica to the SUNYAC? - Biggar's Column

For the record, I posted to this old thread as rib on fishman - but that said - Canton is going to the SUNYAC as an Associate Member for Ice Hockey.
