Depending where he was...trust me, it is. I almost did it when I was in school.I just can't see any reasonable circumstance where I lose a shoe in the snow without being absolutely wrecked. Regardless, good to hear there appears to be only minimal damage.

Danny says he is feeling better, and thank you:

Any bets on when he comes back? 2.5 weeks, I'll take the under and say he's back against UAA.
Awesome! What about his hands? Or were those never in question?

He only lost his shoe and not his gloves. Maybe he wasn't as drunk or stupid as you thought.![]()
Based on the story I'm hearing, he made a really, really *ahem* "poor" choice in his route home.
I'm just glad this story is looking more and more like it will have a happy ending.

It sure looks a lot more encouraging than it did a few days ago. We'll keep hoping for that happy ending!
Shockingly, it appears that information that came from distressed college kids was overblownHow could we have seen that coming? Anyway, no lost foot, fingers or toes so maybe he can actually come back this year. Either way, good to hear he's OK.
I probably will get roasted for this, and gee, don't care.
1. Kid had a few too many, it happens, frostbite occurs. (would you rather he be stupid enough to get frostbite sober, given the weather, which he should know about? Which is worse: drunk or stupid?)
2. Glad to hear he's okay. I wish him the best. I hate seeing anyone being hurt, on the field of play or not. I do hope he can come back to full form.
3. For all the naysayers about the drinking thing, I refer to point number one, and I also ask that given the time of day and the weather, and the reputation of college kids in general, alcohol involvement is not a stab in the dark, is not a rivalry-based accusation, etc. It's a reasonable line of thinking.
This is America! What happened to innocent until proven guilty?!?
BTW this is NSFW
Agreed.
There is no evidence, and the coach has basically said that alcohol was not involved. Unfortunately people can't let it go that he wasn't drinking. I don't understand the obsession. The kid's shoe fell off in a deep snowbank. The weather was terrible, so he ran to get inside.
Saying that he was drunk when there is no evidence at all to back it up, is like me saying that Kangas was drunk when he hurt himself in practice. I mean, how can you hurt yourself in practice...he must be either the dumbest person in the world, or so drunk that he couldn't control himself. Obviously that wasn't the case and I'd be an incredible fool to say something like that (hint hint). Weird stuff happens...just like it did to Mr. Kristo.
