Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Jason Zucker raped a chick on Denver's bye last week. Mike Connolly killed a ginger on UMD's bye week. I really have nothing to back that up, but hey that doesn't really matter.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Nice to see the Sioux move up to #2 in the pairwise without playing a game.

He only lost his shoe and not his gloves. Maybe he wasn't as drunk or stupid as you thought. ;)

Based on the story I'm hearing, he made a really, really *ahem* "poor" choice in his route home.

I'm just glad this story is looking more and more like it will have a happy ending.

I hear ya man. You always hear about people dying in blizzards because that farm house in not that far away. In a deep snow bank and I cannot find my shoe. I may be willing to say it's only 3 blocks I'll run home and just buy a new pair tomorrow.

It sure looks a lot more encouraging than it did a few days ago. We'll keep hoping for that happy ending!

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

So we’re supposed to believe that the Habs traded Kristo’s rights to the Panthers because they now want LaPoint instead, and he was just acclimatizing? Any of you posting “tooth fairy” straws from carefully worded press releases ever think how, even if only obliquely, you’re being enabling? Ever think how many late teens are reading here?

We almost all did dumb stuff in the days when were immortal. I surely did, and continue doing so. I think most other people will as well, but I’d hope they’d try to arrange things, do just a bit of risk management before they go with the flow, so the results are less potentially tragic. Trying to deflecting the reality of cause and effect, even for a positive motive like empathy, is problematic as far as I’ve been able to see.

*dismounts*

Good that it looks like the incident could have turned out worse.

Shockingly, it appears that information that came from distressed college kids was overblown:eek: How could we have seen that coming? Anyway, no lost foot, fingers or toes so maybe he can actually come back this year. Either way, good to hear he's OK.

I probably will get roasted for this, and gee, don't care.

1. Kid had a few too many, it happens, frostbite occurs. (would you rather he be stupid enough to get frostbite sober, given the weather, which he should know about? Which is worse: drunk or stupid?)

2. Glad to hear he's okay. I wish him the best. I hate seeing anyone being hurt, on the field of play or not. I do hope he can come back to full form.

3. For all the naysayers about the drinking thing, I refer to point number one, and I also ask that given the time of day and the weather, and the reputation of college kids in general, alcohol involvement is not a stab in the dark, is not a rivalry-based accusation, etc. It's a reasonable line of thinking.

Agreed.

There is no evidence, and the coach has basically said that alcohol was not involved. Unfortunately people can't let it go that he wasn't drinking. I don't understand the obsession. The kid's shoe fell off in a deep snowbank. The weather was terrible, so he ran to get inside.

Saying that he was drunk when there is no evidence at all to back it up, is like me saying that Kangas was drunk when he hurt himself in practice. I mean, how can you hurt yourself in practice...he must be either the dumbest person in the world, or so drunk that he couldn't control himself. Obviously that wasn't the case and I'd be an incredible fool to say something like that (hint hint). Weird stuff happens...just like it did to Mr. Kristo.

rofl. Hurting yourself in practice vs. losing your shoe in the snow? Not your best effort. :D
