Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Ok Sioux fans remember to place your Hobey vote every 24 hours.

Another day means another vote for Matt or Chay.:) I just voted did you?
http://www.hobeybakeraward.com

Maple Leafs are also showing their support for Matt.
http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=549341

There are 68 Hobey candidates and Matt was getting 68% of the entire vote.
Now he is down to ONLY 60%.:)

Seems that Chay with a respectible 5% needs more votes.
Bumped back up.
As for Kristo, regardless of whether alcohol played a part or not, mistakes get made by kids in college. To have a potentially career-ending injury/accident calls for nothing more than compassion at this point.
Absolutely right! Speedy recovery Danny, we all wish you the best.

Genoway out 3 to 5 more weeks per Brad... at least we will have him back for the playoff push

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

According to Hakstol Kristo was clean:

Grand Forks Herald said:
“I spoke with Danny’s father and they request we keep his progress to the privacy of the family,” Hakstol said.

Hakstol said Kristo did not break any school rules.

Speedy recovery Danny.

Ummmm, I'm not sure that Hakstol is actually saying that Kristo was "clean"? He is saying that he didn't break any team rules....which is quite a bit different from how you interpret his remarks. IF he was totally sober, I would think the family would be a little more open than "keep his progress to the privacy of the family". Which i can respect and sympathisize with if the circumstances are embarrassing, but not if they were totally law-abiding and innocent.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

How do we know this? He just had his MRI yesterday...

Because some of us are privy to early info. It's GF, there are a lot of people that know things. My understanding is it's a deep bone bruise near the knee, not ligament damage.

He said no team rules were broken, nor were there any school code violations. Call me crazy, but I'd suggest underage drinking is a rules violation, especially considering he already broke that team rule prior to the start of the season due to his suspension for his minor consumption. And Hakstol said this was not the case. So take with that what you will. His family wants their privacy for whatever reason they see fit. They shouldn't have to share information with the entire world. That's their right. I'm sure it's a tough time for the Kristo's right now.

Well said. He didn't violate any school rules, that isn't a very ambiguous statement. The Kristo's have every right to expect a bit of privacy regardless of the circumstances.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

I hate to introduce a reputable source to this attempted lynching of Kristo but I will anyways.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Danny says he is feeling better, and thank you:

Any bets on when he comes back? 2.5 weeks, I'll take the under and say he's back against UAA.

I just can't see any reasonable circumstance where I lose a shoe in the snow without being absolutely wrecked. Regardless, good to hear there appears to be only minimal damage.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Well like, have you ever stepped into a snowbank that was deeper than you thought and your shoe gets stuck as you pull your foot out? It's certainly plausible.

Honestly? Never. Tie your ****ed shoes.

So let's pretend I did. If I were sober, I'd know that unless I got that shoe out, I'm going to be in serious trouble. I'll be ****ed if I just walk away from it.

So being stupid is OK then? Holy smokes what an idiot. Sometimes it seems like the Sioux rules promote stupidity. Do we have any details or does the shroud of secrecy prevent that? Was he smoking a fattie in his flip-flops? He was firing on all cylinders, playing the best hockey he ever has and then wham-mo he's sidelined for this? You guys must be bummed! I give you credit your boys are in a bye week and your thread is one of the busiest on the boards. I hope he recovers quickly--no doubt he learned a lesson.
