University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Agreed.

There is no evidence, and the coach has basically said that alcohol was not involved. Unfortunately people can't let it go that he wasn't drinking. I don't understand the obsession. The kid's shoe fell off in a deep snowbank. The weather was terrible, so he ran to get inside.

Yet everyone thinks he was drunk and wont take the word of the coach.

Getting this thread back on topic...

The Sioux play UAA this weekend at home. Last weekend went just about as well as it could for the Sioux, and they are currently in 3rd place, a point behind both DU and UMD. All three teams have 8 games remaining. Here are each teams schedules...

Denver: @ Minnesota, vs Tech, @ UNO, vs SCSU
Duluth: vs SCSU, @ Mankato, @ CC, vs UNO
UND: vs UAA, @ SCSU, vs Bemidji, @ Tech

IMO, Denver SHOULD sweep Tech and SCSU at home, but probably split @ UNO. That leaves this weekend with Minnesota. I'm inclined to think that the Gophers can show up for at least one game of the series and take a split. That would give DU 41 points.

As for Duluth, they SHOULD sweep SCSU at home. Mankato has been playing okay of late, and I think they manage to take at least a point at home against Duluth. CC has shown that they are good enough to play with anyone, especially at home. I think UMD is good enough though to salvage a split. That leaves the last weekend of the regular season against UNO at home. I think it's a split. That would give UMD 40 points.

As for North Dakota, they SHOULD sweep Bemidji at home and Tech on the road. While SCSU is down this year, they always play North Dakota well at home, and I think that series is a split. That leaves this weekend against UAA. If the Sioux sweep, that would give them 42 points and the MacNaughton. If they split, 40 points and a tie for 2nd with Duluth. We're going to be without our Captain and Kristo, so it's going to be very difficult. Saying that, I think we're strong enough all around to take 4 points this weekend and put us in the driver's seat for the MacNaughton Cup.

Your prediction for this series might turn out to be true, but I somewhat disagree about SCSU always playing the Sioux well at St. Cloud. During the Hakstol era, UND is 6-4-2 at SCSU. The Sioux have averaged 3.5 goals per game at St. Cloud while the Huskies have averaged 2.25.

In the Sioux wins, they outscored the Huskies 30-9. Three of four UND losses were by one goal. SCSU outscored UND 13-7 in its four victories. This season, SCSU is 3-5-2 at home against WCHA opponents. UND is 8-2 on the road against conference opponents.

I wouldn't predict a sweep for UND because because that hasn't happened in recent history, but I don't think taking three of four points is unrealistic.

Winter weather advisory for Grand Forks tonight, high winds and extremely low temps. I took the liberty of posting the advisory on the player entrance at tRalph so we can field a team this weekend, also included a map of AA meetings throughout town.;)

Don't end your sentences with a preposition, your program has enough problems without having to deal with your grammatical errors.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

OK, I have looked into my crystal ball, and I have seen the final standings in the WCHA. It looks like this ; UND 42 points, DU 41, UMD 38. I didn't see anything beyond the first three, nor do I think any other team has a shot at first in the league. UMD has the toughest remaining schedule, with home games with MN, SCSU and UNO and road games with Mankato and CC. DU has home games with CC, SCSU and MTU and road games with CC, MN and UNO. UND has home games with AA and BSU, and road games with SCSU and MTU. It could come down to the last game of the season at MTU for the MacNaughton.

Other than UMD, we're on the same page. The Sioux need to finish 7-1, and that will be challenging without Genoway and Kristo. But still doable. I still see Denver losing two games, and that puts them in second.

Agreed. Here's how I see it...

Sioux win:
14-16 points - MacNaughton Cup, #1 Seed
13 points - share of MacNaughton Cup, most likely still #1 seed (Sioux would most likely win tiebreaker with either DU or UMD based on conference wins tiebreaker)
11-12 points - #2 Seed
8-10 points - #3 seed

So, basically 13+ points and we skate the MacNaughton around the Ralph, and host Tech for the first round.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Another day means another Hobey vote for Matt or Chay. I just voted did you?
http://www.hobeybakeraward.com

Maple Leafs are also showing their support for Matt.
http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=549341

There are 68 Hobey candidates and Matt is now getting 27% of the vote with help from Leafs fans and Chay is geting 5% of the vote.

RPI is first in voting with 38% of the vote to their two candidates. UND is second place in voting with 32% of the votes to our two candidates.
Keep the votes coming!

Hey, even Tyler wasn't crazy enough to walk around in the winter without his shoes on. Now, just how crazy do you have to be to walk around without shoes or socks when it's 30 below wind chill? or drunk, I forgot being drunk, too, to, two? And, as far as grammatical errors, you misspelled check, you short-bus idiot.

"Cheque" is a play on words dummy, unlike ending a sentence with a preposition. Tyler wasn't a first round draft pick so even if he would've gotten frostbite no one except his shrink would have cared.
