Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Hey is there any word what your new mascot is going to be? Will there be a student body/Alumni vote on it?

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

That's why you need a new one.

Are you trying to get in a bunch of posts before your annual disappearing act right after the first round of the WCHA playoffs? If not, the goofer fans already have a post season thread going...

UND Recruit Nick Mattson - Top Defensemen in USHL!

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/12767/top_five_drafted_defensemen_in_the_ushl

said coach Skojdt, "There is no question that he has the size, strength, ability, and hockey IQ to succeed at the highest level."

UND recruiting isn't about rebuilding and not just about reloading anymore doesn't even seem like recruiting, seems more like a casting call for a starring role in the NHL. Many players with the "size, strength, ability, and hockey IQ to succeed" in the NHL will audition for a role but only a few will be selected as Fighting Sioux.

It doesn't matter what the gophers are doing, we are here to talk about the 10 year continuous choke of UND. Now, figure out a new, non-racist mascot so I can start to make fun of it. If you guys were smart, it would look just like a cupcake.

I just hope that they don't pick something extremely dumb, stupid and uninspiring...like a gopher. :p:D:D

Lets see, you had a gopher, got rid of that to get the most racist mascot in the NCAA, put that all over a nazi-bunker, and got rid of that for what? a cupcake would do you good.

Just like Minny's non-conference schedule.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

According to Brad Schlossman, there are strong indications that UND will be hosting the Ice Breaker Tournament to open the 2011-2012 season with a line-up of Boston College, Michigan, and Air Force. If true, I'm going to definitely pencil this in to attend in person.

Anyways back to season talk, let's beat those Seapups. Go Sioux!

Wow looks good to me, should be a great tourny, to start out the quest for # 9....:D:D

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

I probably will get roasted for this, and gee, don't care.

1. Kid had a few too many, it happens, frostbite occurs. (would you rather he be stupid enough to get frostbite sober, given the weather, which he should know about? Which is worse: drunk or stupid?)

2. Glad to hear he's okay. I wish him the best. I hate seeing anyone being hurt, on the field of play or not. I do hope he can come back to full form.

3. For all the naysayers about the drinking thing, I refer to point number one, and I also ask that given the time of day and the weather, and the reputation of college kids in general, alcohol involvement is not a stab in the dark, is not a rivalry-based accusation, etc. It's a reasonable line of thinking.

dude, I'm glad you wish him well, but you STILL don't know for a fact that he was drinking. Even though all sources are indicating he had 0 drinks, you just can't let it go. Instead of speculating and damaging his reputation, wish him the best and move on.

In other news, UAA needs the points. Expect them to come out flying.

Then see the note in parentheses in point #1. :p

personally, since rinkpig, happy, and butt*k *****weasel Donald want him to have been drunk because it reinforces their stereotype of UND players, I'd rather him have been sober. It's just like everyone pointing out the stereotype of Minnesota not making the NCAA's. Oh wait...:D

And I don't think it's an insult or "damaging to his reputation" if he had a few too many. Guess what? He's a college kid. It's probably gonna happen at some point. Whoop-de-doo.

Now, if he had been trying to escape a cop car or something....;)
