University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

The user comments on that Herald article are really something. Yes, you don't hear about incidents like this very often, but windchill was recorded at -33 Sunday night, it is entirely possible that alcohol played no part in it, yet several people are calling for a suspension...

Regardless of how it happened Kristo deserves the support of this fanbase.

These are the same buffoons that want dave hakstol fired as well.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Ouch on both Genoway and Kristo.
Speedy recovery to both of them.

UND's playoff push just hit a large snag with two of their most dynamic players out for who knows how long.
The details on Kristo are pretty murky. People are saying he'll be back this season...others are saying he'll lose toes and his career is over. Not sure.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Kristo's details aren't that murky... The kid got hammed and slept in the snow with -40 windchill. His toes are ****ed. Hopefully one dumb night doesn't cost the kid his career.

FYP. This is beyond rivalries. A promising young star possibly ending his career? Everyone should be hoping for a full recovery.

And you would know that HOW? I suggest unless you were personally there, you keep your thoughts to yourself. These rumors have GOT to stop. Whether they are true or not. The reaction from some of these posters on various internet sites is ****ing me off and giving me a VERY short fuse. Most of the rumors are not true anyways, it's usually how it works. Alcohol may have been involved, but I take more concern about the fact that there's a 20 year old kid laying in a hospital bed that could have died. To those out there that think this is funny... shame on you! I feel sorry for you.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Best wishes to Danny and Chay. Both are very talented and seem to be stand up guys. Hopefully they have relatively minor injuries and can return to the ice promptly.

Exactly. We all know damm well when they say they are not commenting the kid did something stupid. Hopefully he is ok because this kid is talented and I would hate to see a kid lose out a long pro career over one drunk night.

I wonder how a st cloud fan would know so much about a team not commenting on something?

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

Wishing for a full and speedy recovery for both Genoway and Kristo. Never cool to see two great players get hurt, regardless of the team they play for.

Wow you are a genius. you put two and two together....:D In the end I hope he is ok. Most of us did drunk stupid things in college and I hate to see a kid hurt because of it. I just find it funny people like you get all pi$sed off over some comment made on a message board about a player that did something stupid. I know, we don't know what happened, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that most likely the only way this happens is if he is out acting like a dumba$s. If we wasn't they would have comment on it in the article.:)

From what I heard on campus Kristo was found passed out drunk in a pile of snow with frostbite on his face, hands, and toes. The severity of the frostbite is the biggest question and concern.

Re: University of North Dakota, version 2.0

This is crappy news for NoDak fans. Gotta think their chances of going all the way are going to be seriously hurt if neither Genoway or Kristo make it back this year. Time for some other guys to step it up I guess...

Wasn't Kristo suspended once already this year due to a "rules violation" that reportedly....allegedly...possibly...invloved drinking? Sounds like the kid might need to take a look at himself, if that is the case, and figure out some things before he really self distructs. Wonder if Hakstol is making a call to Motzko today to ask how to deal with these things....

How did Whitney Houston put it?.....ahh! "Show me the receipts! If I smoked crack show me the receipts!":D

I'm sure the thought or reality of losing a digit or two is a good enough mirror for Danny to "look at himself" with.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt!!! Where in the hell was his friends to help a guy out?

That particular rumor was shot down by the SID.

At this point, all we know is that Kristo has frostbite on some of his toes. The fact that the university hasn't given out a whole lot of information (due to respect for the family) has led to a TON of rumor. While I would like to hear more about the severity of the frostbite, I have a feeling we won't be hearing much of anything.

While it's natural to wonder, at this point, my thoughts and prayers are with Kristo and his family. I hope all is well and he makes it out of this relatively okay and is able to live a normal life. Anything after that is gravy.
