UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Are u that stupid kipp on the 4 line he is one of the best D u have with Kessel Also you guys had Thompson as a 3 4th line player where do you get your info from WATCHER O MY GOD do any of you bloggers now anything'? thompson sat the first half of last year and I kept saying why is the best player on team sitting........ If u dont know anything please keep it to your self thanks................

Hey clown, I wrote them down in pairs as their names came to mind - theres no order to the defensemen in my post. But I guess you'd think its a pretty good order if Kipp is your only complaint...

Not that I need to justify myself to someone like you - but I've always thought Thompson deserved a larger roll and I think Kipp has come along nicely a la Krates as an upperclassman...

You want to condemn the bloggers - but the bigger loser is someone like you who gets worked up about what you read. Umile fills out the line chart, so why would you care what anyone else says?

Whatever you say...

Actually, if I'd thought about it I'd probably drop Kipp down a line and pair F/D Ivens-Anderson with Agosta! But don't throw a tantrum, I'm not actually on the staff...

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Does this mean he still retains college eligibility (I'll assume it does if you are posting the news here?) or did he forgo any eligibility when he signed?

What is the reason for his not playing at Guelph?

If eligible, does UNH still have the money/space available on the blueline??

2011-12 Defenseman
Kessel, SR* / Kostolansky, JR
Hardowa, JR / Laleggia, SO
Chevrier, FR / Knoedel, SO
Kipp, SR / Agosta, SO

* Early Departure??
I believe he is no longer eligible. I only posted it because the UNH fans at one time were following his movement. It's to bad he's already burnt the NCAA bridge at such a young age.

I believe he can petition back to get eligiblity from the ncaa if he chooses to. Since he didnt play in a game and recieve pay. It's a lame rule against these young kids though. AAU basketball is basically the same thing.

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

I should also mention that SteveF, Chris and darin should come out for a game here. They wouldn't think UNH fans are hicks.

The Pepsi Coliseum is located on the Indiana State Fairgrounds right next to the Blue Ribbon Pavilion and the Sheep building. Inside you can see a banner hanging in the rafters remembering that Wayne Gretzky played for Indiana back in '78. Of course that hangs right next to the banner commemorating the World Pork Expo held here in '91, '97 and '03. And better yet - you can get Crown Royal at the game to go with your corn dog. Good times.

Man I have nothing to do out here ...

Carl you forgot to mention that the harness racing track is across the street. I don't think Gretzky actually played at Pepsi (but the Beatles did!), the Racers at that time were playing at Market Square Arena I believe (which was torn down several years ago). The ice at Pepsi is probably the best in the Indianapolis area though, my son plays his HS home games there. Come on out to one of our games, actually Zionsville Hockey Club has one of the best U15 players in the midwest. If he was 6' 190 everyone would know who he is but unfortunately he is pretty small in size but has a huge heart and will go in the corner with anyone.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere, so ... UNH commit Joey LaLegglia was named the best D-man during the two game CJHL Prospects series.

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Interview with Penticton HC (at 6:35 mark) suggests Laleggia will spend another year in Penticton.

SteveS - I will check the Zionsville schedule. I may be going to the Ice game tonight. Saw Carmel play last weekend. Currently, living in Fishers.

Hey guys, saw this on the BC ticker on rivals. Not sure why as that usually only has football and hoops recruiting stuff as related to guys BC recruits.

Anyway, it's an interview for McKeen's that is a free article about Nick Sorkin. I believe the article was done by someone related to Patrick Wey (maybe a brother?), who also posts from time to time on EA.

Thanks for the link, Watcher. Interesting that Laleggia would be the one d-man not to come next year, as neither Agosta nor Knodel(-11) is exactly tearing it up in the USHL this year.

Carl we will be playing at Fishers the weekend of Jan 15-17 its a cross over tournament against teams from the South Bend and Ft Wayne areas, should be good HS hockey. Don't know the schedule yet though.

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Personally, if I'm Laleggia's coach, I'd want him to stay as well, but as a first yr D man, already averaging a point a night playing against kids 1 and 2 and 3 yrs older. I'm saying thanks for the time and and moving to the next level. I don't see what a second great yr does if he's a proven commodity and going to start for the next team he goes to.

Anyway.. Campbell (incoming goalie) has been traded recently and not seeing much playing time with his new club at the moment. He's a '92. Meanwhile Wyer is a '91.. and carrying the bulk of the work at his EJHL club, although he's got 5 L's in a row w/ a +.900 save percentage.. His defense must be absolutely aweful. Would he not precede Campbell if this trend continues? interesting to see what happens..

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Campbell had a great game on Sunday apparently... stopping 31 of 32 shots against the highest scoring team in the USHL.

He started the year decently, then kind of skidded for awhile. Hopefully he is back.

Re: UNH commitments/recruits for 2010 and beyond

Not sure what to make of this, but if it's true, Cam Reid has changed his college choice to SCSU.
This was in the St. Cloud Times game story and it says nothing about UNH.
My husband was looking for something else to confirm it most of the night but could find nothing.
The other tough part is the writer is going on furlough this week so I don't think we'll get anything more from him.
I will say though, he's never gotten a story like this wrong to my knowledge.

St. Cloud State recently got a verbal commitment from Cam Reid, an 18-year-old forward from the Westside Warriors of the BCHL. Reid, who is 6-foot-3, 197 pounds, is from Delta, British Columbia. He also is a seventh-round draftee of the Nashville Predators.

"He's real strong and he's got great vision," said Westside coach Darren Yopyk, who was an assistant coach at Merrimack last season. "He can make plays and he's got great hand skills for a big guy. He needs to work on his defense, but I think his upside is tremendous. He had a lot of interest from a lot of schools, but St. Cloud State did a great job recruiting him."

Westside was playing Saturday night, so Reid was not immediately available. Through 38 games this season, he was 10th in BCHL scoring with 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points. He also had six power-play goals and 52 penalty minutes. He was traded from Victoria to Westside last season and has 41 goals and 79 assists in 151 career games.

"He centers our top line and plays a lot of power-play minutes," Yopyk said. "I'm using him to kill penalties, too, to try and help him get better defensively. But I think he's going to be a great player if he keeps going the way he is."

It's on page 3 of this story
