UML offseason looking towards 2010/11 season

Re: UML offseason looking towards 2010/11 season

Keep in mind that the University is ripping apart Tsongas right now.

Blaise can probably do most of his scheduling from the pool of his suburban fortress or whatever hockey coaches live in. :p I have to think that they haven't released it because it just isn't final.

On another note: Did everyone renew their season tickets? I did.

Next month I buy my computer and then I'll be watching from the big blurry seat. :) I'll see if i can make it up north this year for one.

I saw a copy in the past few days that had 1 of the UNH games listed on a different day as what UNH has on their schedule, so it still isn't quite final yet.

Yup, took care of that a couple of weeks ago.

Hahahaha, i almost moved to Massachusetts once, but then I realized I'd be just like those idiots on the Jersey Shore tv show. Those jerks give the whole state a bad name.

Re: UML offseason looking towards 2010/11 season

It's tough to start off with 3 road games but then there are 3 home games after that so everything equals out.

I'm seriously thinking about going to the Exhibition game to check out what Tsongas looks like after the renovations. I'm not going to put much stock into what the team does that night. They could lose 7-1 or win 8-5. Who cares.

The Athletic Department has really stepped it up this year. Say what you want about Marty but his influence is huge when it comes to marketing the University's only D1 team.

Marty has his dream scenario as the University owns Tsongas and the Devils are gone. I say bring it on!

I guess my only complaints about the schedule are the Tuesday night against Bentley... (First, c'mon..Bentley, really? and second, a Tuesday night when we own the building now?)... And also, it's too bad those Mankato games are right after Thanksgiving when everyone is away.. It'd be good to have a full crowd against a WCHA team.

Ah well, can't get everything perfect. Looking forward to October though. If anyone gets pictures from inside the Tsongas this summer, post them please!!

A little longer XMas break this season. Roughly 4 weeks off between games (12/11/10 through 1/7/11).

Went to the Tsongas today - no work has been done.
The Tsongas event schedule has two events showing, one tonight and a concert on 8/14/10. I would imagine they will need to work around them.

That's a pretty tough stretch of games at the end of October into the first week of November.

Five games in nine days:
Fri - 10/29 - vs BU
Sat - 10/30 - @ BU
Tue - 11/2 - @ BC
Fri - 11/5 - vs UVM
Sat - 11/6 - @ UNH

we've got enough bodies laying around this year and it'll give the new guys a good understanding of what they'll need to do in the future.

The Generals also dealt the rights to defenceman Julian Melchiori to the Kitchener Rangers on Tuesday for a conditional fifth round draft pick in 2013.

Melchiori was drafted in 2007 by the Generals in the 14th round, but played with the Newmarket Hurricanes after committing to a U.S. college scholarship. He was selected in the third round of Saturday's NHL draft by the Atlanta Thrashers.

Melchiori is cousins with Sean Murphy, a former assistant coach with the Generals who's now a scout with Kitchener.

Ruh roh.
