Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

He went underneath with Mr. Les right after the hit. When Mr. Les came back out about 10 minutes later he went right to Norm, and unless my lip-reading is really bad, I could see him say "separated shoulder".

Don't know any of the details yet. Relax. If anyone is going to be injured, now is the time of year for it to happen. There's some time to recuperate and what not during the break. What's the word on Kamrass?

There will be a live blog of tomorrow's Lowell/NU game on The Ice is Life. So that's kinda cool.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

Big win, are any of the guys playing Norms kids? Was he the recruiter under the Midget or did he bring some of these kids this summer(which doesn't seem likely) or is he just winning with the kids who were at Lowell when he took over? What a difference a Coach makes if so.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

I shared this with a few last night..the absolute best taunting I have ever seen.

The appx 7 year old girl, who has UML season tickets with her father in the front row of Sec 105, was sitting next to appx 10 year old boy who had a BC jersey on. When BC took the ice for warmups he was acting all big and bad, pointing at his jersey giving her the "I'm better than you" look. She promptly stood up, put down the doll she brought with her, and returned the favor and showed the BC kid who is boss. The BC kid then stopped and left his seat for the remainder of warmups.

Also, I liked the EASY button sign which was made by the students.

We had his twin brother in my section. Two quick UML goals shut him up.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

Personally, I did not think it was remotely a 5min. I saw a glancing hit in passing. However, I was not a zebra.

It was a solid hit with both arms up to the head. He deserved the five, maybe not the game misconduct. Admitedly I'm biased but thats what I saw. Having said that, a good game and good win by your guys. First goal was highlight reel stuff. Great building to watch a game in, outstanding band and the student section is loud. The mascot needs to stop directing cheers when they have nothing to do with the play on the ice. You're program is going places. Enjoy the ride.

I was told that Kamrass also has a separated shoulder, but could (should?) be back after the break.

That's the way I saw it. Once the refs started to discuss the hit I figured it would be five. They're cracking down on the contact to the head stuff, which is good.

The easy sign was there last week as well.
Lil had 4 friends there all rooting for BC. Trash talk all day at school. End of the game he texted them all (they were sitting somewhere else) "so how is BC?" There will be further trash talk I am sure

Non-discretionary call if hit to the head. I didn't see both arms- from my angle the one arm was up and hit the upper body, then head. I said elbow before the arm went up.

We'll the Hawks will be missing two regulars on defense tonight. I would imagine we'll see Rob Badger tonight.

or a person who has ever seen a hockey game, apparently. that's five and the gate every time. call couldn't have been easier to make.

Here is the correct link: http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/northeastern.portal# If any trouble with that one, use www.gonu.tv and select the correct stream on the right side of the screen. Also, please note that there are two separate streams: one in HD and one in standard def. If your computer has an HDMI port, you can just hook up an HDMI cable between your computer and TV set. Works fine.

Oh and all Northeastern vidstreams are free.

Thank you! The only prob I have is listening to the radio while watching. The video lags. Have to listen to Bob. It is required. So it is like instant replay the whole game.

Of the guys that played last night, Buco and Suter are Norm's recruits. Zach Kamrass who was injured in a dirty hit by some UNH player at the end of the game last Friday night is also his recruit.
big win for you guys, congrats!
Thank you.

Glad to hear this, wasn't hearing anything good as of early this week, so this is better.

Always remember, not everyone sees every play from the same angle. Honestly, the people in our section just didn't see the elbow due to our angle. Now I spoke with a good friend between periods and he told me it was the right call, and that's fine ... but our angle didn't show it.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

I'm just so **** proud of this program today. What a change up from just a few months ago where they couldn't win a game no matter what they did. First period was pretty much all Lowell. I just can't speak enough of Val's goal, goal of the year type. Just a great play by him. His assist on the second goal was also very well done, and while DA seemed to fumble with the puck when he got it, he did finish well. The second period was pretty much a 20 minute power play for BC. It didn't seem like Lowell could do anything right, but even after that kind of play, going into the third with a lead was huge. The breakaway goal by Pendanza was so typical of him, his speed once again doing the work and a nice move to finish. Great pass by Buco to get him the puck. Carr was just outstanding, once again. The defense blocked a ton of shots. So basically ... a great team win.

And I won the signed UML blue sweater, so just a great night overall! :D

Tonight scares me ... too easy to just overlook this game. I hope they don't.

Way to go boys!

Per the NCAA Rules and Interpretations book, a contact to the head penalty is an automatic major with a game misconduct. Officials cannot assign a minor 'Contact To The Head' penalty or a 'Contact To The Head' penalty without an associated game misconduct. Hope that explains that one. :)

I thought that might be the rule but I didn't know for sure. Thanks.
