Once upon a time, Bob was UNH's version of Grant Standbrook. If Standbrook ever did TV color work, I'm sure his biases would eventually seep through as well. If you're emotionally invested, that's a tough spigot to shut off.
Ironically, the last times I've seen Bob were at a few professional (non-hockey) seminars a decade or so ago, but I doubt he's still active now in what he was doing then, as he's now 80 years old. Nice guy, salt of the earth.
His son Pat scored his only UNH goal in the final game ever played at Snively Arena in March 1994, on a deflection off his posterior IIRC? It was a HEA Quarterfinal game, so his dad may have been doing color for the game, which UNH won in double OT 7-6 in what was also BC HC Steve "Count" Cedorchuck's final game in charge at The Heights.
