Slap Shot
I got nothing
It all will mean something in the end I would imagine. But, if it doesn't it was fun trying to figure it out.............LOL.
btw do you also feel as if the theme song heavily borrowed from West World? :^)

American shows I had no idea were rip offs of original shows in other countries (e.g., The Office and Coupling):
All in the Family (UK)
Big Brother (Netherlands)
Cash Cab (UK)
Homeland (Israel)
Sanford & Son (UK)
Shark Tank (Japan)
Survivor (Sweden)
Three's Company (UK)
Ugly Betty (Colombia)
All In The Family was based off of Till Death Do Us Part.I haven't watched Ugly Betty, but I swear it was marketed as the first English language telenovela in America, and with that I just figured it was an original USA-centric story. Turns out Betty, la fea is one of the most famous and reproduced shows in the world with two dozen adaptations.
Never would have guessed All in the Family had roots somewhere else.
Cash Cab makes sense. Seems like most game shows come out of Britain.
Sanford and Son was based on Steptoe and Son.
No, it was more about the father/son relationship. Was there anything analogous to the race angle in the Brit version? The Brits treat the Poors the way Americans treat blacks, was it an East End junk dealer or something?
Red Foxx cracks me up on teevee because he was, evidently, the second-dirtiest blue comic in history, after Buddy Hackett. Guys who said stuff so bad even other comics were like "whoa," and they were doing it in the 50s and early 60s.

E1 of Crime of the Century about how big pharma and the government got America hooked on opiates. These fuckers make the Reagan administration with their crack push look like choir boys. Hooray for deregulation and laissez faire.

I will deliberately not watch that because I am afraid it will give me a seizure.

As you probably already know, Rex Chapman has a lot to say about this.
