We can't just erase everything that makes people uncomfortable...otherwise we all look like that stupid school district in California that is taking the names of people off schools. (even Lincoln) Just own your mistake and move on.

Thank you, Bill Maher.

Nobody is suggesting that. It's case by case. Nathan Bedford Forest Middle School is out. Lincoln, Nebraska stays. Everything in between will be continually renegotiated. That's what free people do -- everything is negotiable; there are no principles above human beings. Our law and morality and ethics are tools for us to use, not vice versa.

The wriggly worms in our heads are arbitrary. Human life is the only real thing.

WWE has been editing stuff for decades, try to search “Benoit” on the WWE Network, so it’s not a huge deal to me. They’ve edited “questionable” things out of DVDs and Network cuts all the time, this being a prime example.

I do agree with Bill on that yes. And no I dont think that is unreasonable. The negatives are part of who we are. No one is unsullied, no one has a record that doesnt have some dirt. We cant just wipe them all away because 5 people in Marin County need to use the signs they bought on sale and a bunch of people with urban ed degrees need to justify themselves. There is a section of the Left that leaves all context out of their cancelling and it is going to bite us all in the butt if we (the ones who actually think) don't put a check on them. Cancelling Diane Feinstein because in like 1984 she raised a Confederate Flag when that wasn't super controversial makes no sense. (cancel her because she is unfit for the job now) Erasing TV Shows and editing movies to take out things some may deem offensive (often before anyone even has a chance to say it offended them) is not the answer to the problem. Should we cancel James Earl Jones because he was in Soul Man, a film where C. Thomas Howell tans himself to appear Black to get a scholarship to go to college? Should we cancel everyone in Revenge of the Nerds or other sex based comedies? What about how they use the "N" word in Police Academy...can't have that!

And trust me when I tell you it is spreading. The Minnesota Department of Education is doing much the same thing in their attempts to restructure Social Studies. My GF is to the Left of me (and probably you on social issues) and even she cant stand it and wants to burn it to the ground. If they had their way (which they dont completely yet) they would take everything European out of American History...how can you study our country without any White Perspective? The idea is to ADD perspective not replace.

What makes America great is not that it is perfect...but that it is completely flawed and even with its flaws it is always striving to be better. We have to accept our warts and look at the time in which the person lived.

FWIW Bill is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top annoying on the subject, but the basics of what he is saying I agree with. (see also: Drugs) This stuff just wreaks of the White People I used to see at the U of M/NoDak games who would protest the Fighting Sioux Name. There was never any Native Americans there...it was always a bunch of Rich White Suburbanites trying to show how unracist they are. We need to stay out of all of this...we White, Hetero Males/Females shouldn't be speaking for anyone else. (and if you look it is White People leading most of this) They aren't children, if they want to fight let them they are more than capable and have way better things to say than we ever could.

/end worthless rant

I have no desire to go back and watch old WWE matches anymore so it doesn't bug me I just think it is lame. I doubt 90% of their audience cares this is just in case some rando sees it and posts it on Twitter and it starts trending.

So they erased Chris Benoit? What a shame...

Watched the first episode of The Mighty Ducks and there is one egregious error: THE HAWKS DON"T WEAR BLACK! Absolutely ridiculous! They're still in Edina though.

They're now Oilers colors! Wife and I yelled "Cake-eaters!" At the same time at the TV when they were announced.

And they made the Ducks be Anaheim purple, black, and silver.

The musical guest on SNL had to be a prank she was so bad. What if Laurie Anderson had no talent and no charisma.

The host was amazing; I've never seen him in anything.

Terrible episode over all, though. Even weekend update sucked.

I thought the first episode of Ken Burns' documentary on Hemingway on PBS last night was well done and interesting, although I'll admit I'm a sucker for old photographs, so I could watch any tv show that just showed me an endless string of old photos and I'd probably watch for hours.
