So I saw The Seven Fishes. Spoilers:

I didn't think much of Odenkirk TBH.

JLC should win an Emmy. That was actual acting. Like, real acting. What we never see on TV.

I loathe Sarah Paulson and she was perfectly cast.

Mulaney was a good try but too hemmed in. I really enjoyed the Chicago connection though.

It was excellent.

My mentioning of him in particular wasn’t because I thought it was an amazing performance- it was because he was the only publicly named actor (and the one that made you fear it was being ruined). The others were kept quiet.

it all worked well.

I may be having a senior moment and should probably go back and recaps from the original run of Justified but did Raylan have a kid during that time? I don't recall that at all.

Pretty sure he had a baby towards the end and the kid has been aged up several years for the new series.

Catching up on Disney now. Mandalorian Season 3, Ms. Marvel, new Star Wars drops the 23rd of August. Ahsoka. Actually looking forward to that one. Anything about the Jedi or Sith are what I enjoy.

Yep

I like it so far!

if you want to see serious case of brain rot, check out social media of Nick Searcy, who played Raylons boss in thr original series.

im shocked he’s not in the reboot…

Olivia Colman is loving the crap out of her role and I am all for it.

I never figured her as being able to play someone so delightful, yet unhinged. I love how she contrasts w/ Fury despite them both playing the same game.

Secret Invasion has been great. May be my favorite Marvel TV show offering.

I've enjoyed the first two episodes, haven't gotten caught up, but it definitely has been refreshing to watch. I just wish every review I read the last few weeks didn't absolutely sh*t on it because it's not "Infinity War / Endgame" Marvel-y for them.

I *am* getting a little irked at the lack of tie-in by the TV shows themselves. I get that Loki, Cap and Winter Soldier, and Wandavision were filmed differently (and released "out of order") but despite everything being under the roof of Feige, new shows /movies once again don't reference the shows.

So far all we've had is the hand waving by Dr. Strange to dismiss Westview in Dr. Strange 2, and the credit scene with Loki in Ant-Man 3. None of the new shows (I haven't watched Ms. Marvel yet) mention anything about the Flagsmashers which I would think could have been hinted at in She Hulk AND Secret Invasion. That seemed like a big enough issue to at least warrant some background winks and nods. I'm not saying they need a plot point, but at least referencing the greater world would help tie things together.

Hawkeye was best at tying back into the MCU and other properties with the battle of New York "reverse angle" shots and including the Daredevil villain. She Hulk just assisted in advancing the new Daredevil.

And the Netflix/ABC TV series should just be considered cannon and tied in. They make too much sense to ostracize.

They really need to release a "Luis Recap" of the MCU tying all this together as a special.

I think Feige is having an issue reversing his prior stance, ignoring the TV shows prior to Disney+ , back when his team did not have direct control over Marvel TV shows - especially those released on Netflix. He’s actively trying to tie current shows to the movies, but he has to be cautious, learning a lesson from Star Wars, where all TV, novels, and comics are considered canon. It created a very quick burnout by many of their fans - along with producing an unimpressive flagship trilogy since Disney bought them.

Well quality matters too. Star Wars for the most part has sucked since Di$ney bought it. From what I hear Marvel has fallen off but it cant be anywhere near as awful as how Star Wars was run.

Back when we discussed Di$ney buying Indy and Sat Wars I said they would ruin both...I hate being right.

It wasn't that long ago that I looked forward to the next Marvel release and sadly I haven't felt the same way for some time.
In addition to them making the mistake of trying to take the series past the climatic end of End Game, the new start has been less impressive than the original start. And, I think, COVID kind of killed the momentum of the brand.

Latest Indy movie is top notch.
Andor was very good. Mandalorian has been very good.
Secret Invasion is all that and a slice of lime.

I don't think they've screwed up that bad. Lucas's Prequel Star Wars trilogy was worse than the sequel trilogy by Disney IMO.

Mostly agree. Andor is one of the best shows on TV. Mando is above average. Haven't seen SI.

Agree on the trilogies. Save for Episode 3, which I thought was pretty good. 1 and 2 are war crimes. 6 should have also been brought to The Hague but I'm not sure they could have gotten a conviction.

Episode One at least has the podracing and Duel of the Fates.

Andor isn’t even the best show on Disney+, that would be Bluey. :-D

I will take the prequels over the sequels, but that is like chosing how you want to be executed. Solo alone was enough to convict Di$ney of war crimes though.
