Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

We leave Saturday for Thailand - I'll be there for 3 weeks, the kids almost 4 and the boss lady for 5. Besides Bangkok we have trips booked for Chiang Mai and Rayong. Trying to see if we can squeeze in another to Myanmar but I may not have the time. My favorite time of year and I can't wait.

We're moving on to Cuelebra for a few days. Wife would've preferred the ferry and I've already been informed, "No more puddle jumpers".

If the weather looks good, see if you can find someone to take you out to Culebrita- you will be out on a small island by yourself. Nothing is out there, food, water, people- nothing.

The famous beach is Flaminco, but Playa Carlos Rosario is really nice with great reefs to snorkel around. It’s a bit of a walk, though.

After flirting with sunburn yesterday, we're headed back to San Juan for one more night before we fly back home to snow. Culebra reminds me a lot of Kauai - feral chickens everywhere, low development, and a mix of locals who are either happy to see you (restaurant owners), or sigh/grunt as they take your gringo money regardless (pretty much everyone else). :p

We waited in the check-in line (couldn't self-check and no priority seating on this flight) for 2 hours as they were clearly under-staffed, which meant we had only 25 minutes in the lounge and I hadn't eaten anything all day. But I rolled with it as we're now in Bangkok, Kid 2 arrives tomorrow and Kid 1 on Tuesday.

Yesterday we had fresh grilled prawns right next to where they were caught along with some tom yum and a fish salad made with ginger and peppercorns. Now we're headed out for boat noodles and shopping.

Mmmm the food.

walking food tour was amazing

Love the mall type food courts under open air tin roofs. One on asok near cowboy is cool. The one beside Robinsons next to the Shangri La & first mosque is cool too.
all the construction off sukhumvit has chased away many carts that used to line soi 11:mad::mad:

Somtam khun Kan in sumhumvit is still the beat meal I’ve ever had. Anywhere. Pretty sure it’s still on Michelin list too

This is about as close as I can get to showing the "before and after" views from our current stay in the mountains near Chiang Mai, Thailand. The night before with no fog, the morning after with the valley completely covered.
