Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Also since you're new:

- DO NOT touch anything in the mini-bar, as they have pressure sensors
- Stop at a CVS/Walgreens to get pop, gatorade, snacks for your room
- Beware of 6:5 Blackjack
- Charge EVERYTHING to your room
- Use a Players Club card at your casino. Call the Casino Host On Duty right before you check out. You may be able to get some odds and ends comped off your bill.

I don't know what you've budgeted food & beverage-wise, but unless you head off Strip, which I do recommend if you've got the time, expect to pay a 30-40% markup (even more for ultra-premo liquor & wine) over the norm. Take a short ride over to the Double Down Saloon if you want to drink an Ass Juice in Bourdain's memory and/or just hang out at a really cool punk bar. I often go to the Peppermill for a massive brunch right before I leave town. Don't forget to cash out any vouchers from machine play before you depart.

Have fun!

Would love to. But not sure my wife would.

It's unique. Most people either love it or hate it. On the rare times i get to go to the Strip rather than staying in suburbia with my elderly parents, I have fun. My wife would be fine never going back.

I think that's about where we are.

We ate at Craftsteak last night which was really damn good. TBD on where we're going to be eating. Either way, the food this trip has been pretty incredible. Kinda pricey but that's the game

Tonight we're going to see a show. Atomic Saloon. Our friends have seen it and love it. If they're ok seeing it again, it must be good.

My inlaws live in Arizona and we fly into vegas to visit. I like a bit of gambling, but the wife doesn't so we usually go for 2 days on the tail end of our visit. We have been to many good restaurants there.

2 highlights from last trip:
Din Tai Fung in Aria and Best Friend in Park MGM

Picasso was absolutely excellent in bellagio but that was ~900 dollar meal for both of us...so a special treat.

$900? Good Lord. I thought our priciest meal so far at $400 for two was insane.

Tasting menu with premium wine pairing, had a pour of a 40 year tawny port for dessert. It is a meal I will remember for the rest of my life...

For context, we are DINKs, live happily in a 1300 sq ft house and drive ~10 year old cars. I think about that meal probably 2-3 times a month.

mookie always enjoyed Vegas, whether with or without girl. Last time there was after NO won their SB (and mookie went to cash his futures bet at 26-1). At times did the pricy meals which are great and thoroughly enjoyed. More so with girl and she enjoys as well.
once when mookie went solo he played shadow creek which was stupid expensive but well worth the day.

At some point I'd like to do Robuchon. They don't even list prices so yeah...

If you want to drink cheap and like seltzers you can get the double talls there for like $4. I always keep a couple in my room.

If you like dim sum there is a great spot at Aria. If you like Tapas Firefly which is like a half mile off the Strip is great and priced right with a good tequila suggestion. And Lotus of Siam is the best Thai food my gf has had outside of Thailand. A bit spendy but worth every penny!

I go to Vegas like every few months so dx if you need suggestions:

We're on our last night. Thanks for the offer. Next time I'll ask around

Drinks at casino royale were houghton cheap and houghton strong. Lol

Well, somehow my damn phone got wiped last night. Lost all but like ten photos. iCloud only synced those ten. Everything else from departure day until last night was wiped.

went through recovery and everything. :-(

glad I posted my favorites to Facebook during the trip.
