Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Mookie if you've never been this is my favorite joint in all of Bangkok. Great live music, a very cool vibe and a solid whiskey selection:

I made a trip to the Kennedy Space Center today, and I was a bit underwhelmed. I’d have liked more exhibits of some tech bits, like an example of the gyro used in the Apollo missions, things like that. However, the history of the space shuttle within the Atlantis exhibit was fun, as was the stationary ride Cosmic Wonders.

Anyone been to India (Kerala in particular). Do you have some travel tips for me? Places to see and to stay?
The other questions is about visa. I recently found out that i can apply for evisa on this website https://visa-to-india.com/ but how long does it take until i get the visa confirmation actually? How far in advance should i do the application? Would really appreciate some advice here.

Last night mookie and family was enjoying dinner when a pair of old broads sat next to them, the one brought her dog in….which is fine. The dog was a poodle, well behaved. Drank some water out of her bowl then jumped up in a chair and laid there, like a b1tch should

however ten minutes in the older broad lit up a cigarette which blew in mookie’s face. Mookie ended up leaving the table and stood in the hallway. They brought mookie the bill after a while. Mookie paid and left.
friggin Europeans

Minnesotans, where's a good place for dinner near the Armory?

Going up there in about 2.5 weeks for the Yellowcard concert, staying at the Hyatt nearby, don't want to have to drive after checking into the hotel if we can help it. It'll be a Saturday if that matters.

The good restaurants are down Washington in the north loop. I’d walk or Uber- I’m not aware of anything within a few blocks of US bank or armory that I’d recommend. Maybe someone else here does.
bar la grassa- my favorite restaurant in twin cities
spoon and stable- high end, not best choice if you want something more casual
Parlour- amazing burger, next to bar la grassa
sanjusen- Japanese Italian fusion, I know a chef there, it’s good

I haven't been to some of these places recently (perhaps others can weigh in), but a few that come to mind depending upon your likes and price point:

-Zen Box (Ramen etc)
-Hell's Kitchen
-Oceanaire Seafood ($$$)
-Manny's Steakhouse ($$$)
-Crooked Pint
-Naf Naf Grill (Middle Eastern)
-Tavola (Italian)
-Dan Kelly's (Pizza)
-Zelo (Italian)

Agree with a lot of what DGF says. There's only a handful that are worth the trip right next to The Armory.
  • I'll specifically add my comment on S&S. It's excellent. It's not cheap, but not terrible either if you're looking for a really nice dinner (I think we did a couple cocktails each, an app, two entrees, and two desserts for something like $200 before tip). I don't think it's super formal. But I don't think I'd wear shorts. The waiters are all in nice jeans, for reference.
    • Demi is a spendier, more formal restaurant run by Gavin Kaysen. Tasting menu. Probably the only shot Minneapolis has at getting its first Michelin Star.
  • Agree on Parlour. Also Borough has pretty damn good cocktails.
  • If you want something unique, Owamni has really hit the maps recently. Indigenous fare. Relatively close.
  • For something more casual and closer, I recall Gluek's having a really good walleye sandwich. I used to stop in there before Twins games. That's about three blocks down from The Armory.
  • Inbound Brewery is up in that north loop area and has decent food and fairly good beer.
  • Last time we went to Barrio it was pretty good. Nothing special but I'd eat there again.
Honestly though, i think your best bet is just to spend the cash and uber. Unless of course Glueck's is what you're looking for.
