Dollar bet says he starts. The only way I see Jozy playing is if we have a lead in the 70th minute and are struggling with possession, bring him in to hold up play.

Brazil-Colombia and most likely France-Germany
pretty much as expected on that side...stacked
I think people forget, not intentionally, how subs work in soccer. If there is a risk of a player reinjuring himself, but he's able to play, then you do not put him in as a sub, you start him. You only have 3 subs. If you put him in as a a sub and he gets hurt again, you not only burn a sub replacing but you've also burned one putting him in. If you start him and he gets hurt, now you only burn one sub replacing him. That's what I'm going with.

Either Jozy starts or he doesn't play at all.
You really think he can go 120 minutes if necessary right now? You can't really start him unless you think he can go at least 70 minutes and I don't see that.
I'd start Jozy and hope we can make something happen. We need to play positively and we seem to need him to do that.
You can't start him, I don't think, because there doesn't seem to be any way to be sure he can go 80 or 90 or possibly 120 minutes, as SG noted. Dress him, put him on the bench, see how the match plays out. You never know, maybe we can win it cleanly without him; if not... well, if it's the 75th minute and we need a goal or two, I think you have to give him a shot.
Been hearing a lot how Nigeria, Algeria and to a lesser extent Germany have players that are Muslim and are observing Ramadan. Imagine if this is the case in 2022? It could be even more of a recipe for disaster.
Either he starts or he doesn't play at all. Jozy is not a "off the bench" type of player. You can't start him, I don't think, because there doesn't seem to be any way to be sure he can go 80 or 90 or possibly 120 minutes, as SG noted. Yup, and DeAndre Yedlin isn't a midfielder...and Clint Dempsey isn't a lone forward.Either he starts or he doesn't play at all. Jozy is not a "off the bench" type of player.
