The 2010 Cycling Thread!

Re: The 2010 Cycling Thread!

I'm not rushing anything, but we probably should make a decision by Friday, go time is what Saturday?

Anyway, it sounds like Freire may take the start...

Also a couple of adjustments, should we go this way...I just realized who some of these guys are...

93 Sacha Modolo (Ita) 8 Sprint

108 Michele Merlo (Ita) 5 Sprint

217 Lucas Sebastian Haedo (Arg) 5 Sprint

ETA: Just found this site looks similar to the velogames set-up.

Yeah, what is everyone thinking?
I'd be fine going either route, either with a website or using the system from earlier in this thread.

Sounds like Freire is now out of the Giro for sure. He will be replaced by Steven Kruijswijk.

Re: The 2010 Cycling Thread!

How do you propose that we adjust the points, I certainly agree that my numbers are a bit lower than previously, but I tried to have that reflect the lack of a true favorite... IS this a decision to run our own event? I'm still up for either, but as time ticks down, perhaps we are best to use an existing league, just thinking...

Awesome...

Put a quick team in, roster subject to change...
Cadel EVANS BMC 24
Michele SCARPONI AND 14
Carlos SASTRE CTT 20
Domenico POZZOVIVO CSF 12
Andre GREIPEL HTC 10
Daniel MARTIN GAR 6
Marco PINOTTI HTC 4

I can't believe I've fallen into the Evans trap again...AND I don't have enough Italians! I wish Ricco was riding. And that I have 2(!) CSF riders...

I also messed up and entered 2 similar teams in the League...this one is my primary team...

Re: The 2010 Cycling Thread!

Here is my team. I fell into the Evans trap as well.
I promised I wouldn't do that again, but here I am. :)
I also picked Vino, which I told myself not to do. I guess we'll see if his strong classics form can translate into a grand tour.

I did not fall into the Evans trap. Of course with Vino and Basso on my team the chances that both will be caught for doping is huge! ;)

But you did take Gibo, which is awesome! My hope is that a classy rider like Sastre and Gibo get away on the Zoncolon and Sastre lets Gibo win the stage!

Also given the way Basso has been riding, he isn't a doping risk...Vino on the other hand...

Re: The 2010 Cycling Thread!

I debated about picing Evans mainly because I feel that BMC wants a good showing to guarantee that BMC makes the Tour. But on the other hand everytime I pick Evans he doesn't do so well. I also debated about picking Nibali but I figure with all the money Liquigas has dropped on Basso and with no Pellizotti Basso should be undisputed team leader. As for Simoni he hasn't raced all year so I don't figure other than maybe an attack on a mountain stage he won't be a contender for less points maybe I would have taken a stab.

Surely you aren't talking about Cunego...I know he's clean, he's got a tattoo that says so!

What does everyone think about tomorrow? Not a prologue (too long) but not really a full TT. You know Vino wants it...
